Did your church discuss the election?

My Parish Priest doesn't usually get into politics directly , but was very clear about making sure everyone know that voting Democrat is a grave moral sin (this wasn't worded this way, but everyone understood the message and he was referencing the Democrat Party), and it was our duty as Christians to use the political process to oppose the evil coming from the Democratic Party and vote against it. His Homily recieved a round of applause which never happens as it is viewed as disrespectful to applaud Liturgy, but was glad to hear everyone on board with this message.

My Catholic Church danced around the edges. Said go vote but did not say what principal to vote for. You could interpret it either way.

Just abortion. Pastor said he can't get excited about either candidate but didn't say he wasn't voting.
My church usually stays away from politics
I thought to myself, one candidate is for killing a lot of babies, the other has policies to kill less babies. What's the debate here?

Yep. Didn't tell us who to vote for. Didn't tell us what party to vote for.
Laid out the issues from a biblical standpoint... backed up all with scripture and said to vote for the candidate that best espoused those principles. For the candidate which would most closely align with what the bible says, while keeping in mind that neither candidate is perfect and neither is a saint. That last point got a chuckle out of the congregation.
On abortion... said neither candidate was pro life, but one candidate was certainly more pro life than the other, by a large margin.

Simply said vote… and trust God.
“God has never lost an election.”

My pastor said we need to all vote. Did not try to persuade anyone. Just said it’s a privilege.

Ours talked about abortion again as it’s on the ballot this year.

Every Sunday the priest reminds the congregation that Abortion and alternative lifestyles are not in line with church teaching. I am in Arizona in a massive Parish.

Catholics don't have to wonder what our Church thinks because Pope has already urged us to vote for the "lesser of two evils". When you ponder that, you are going to compare Trump's Evil (plenty of fornication) with Harris's Evil (plenty of adultery AND killing unborn human beings), and you will deduce the logical conclusion that Pope urges us to Vote TRUMP.

Yep.
Said that in the OT, God punished nations by giving them women rulers. Got a chuckle and then said he was serious.

I’m not from Lafayette, but I attended a catholic church there not long ago.
I was looking through the confession preparation pamphlet there and it flat out stated that voting for a pro abortion candidate is a sin that you can confess for.

My pastor had a MAGA hat on today while he was preaching.

I brought this up in a thread earlier, but we have crazy liberal pastor in Fayetteville, that goes on Facebook saying frick republicans.
He has a summer camp for kids called "Queer Camp" for gay and trans kids. He is a very strange dude, obsessed with the sexuality of children. His tax exemption status should be revoked, but we know that won't happen.
I don't understand how any parent let's their child near this dude.

My pastors both talked about the election
I actually attend two churches where I rotate each week because I love both churches equally…
Today I decided to go to both churches - early morning service at one church and the late service for the other church
Both did not endorse anyone but the way they both talked everybody knew who they were talking about
I was very encouraged that BOTH pastors said that over 32 million Christian’s do not vote for whatever reason but to please try to help that number come down for this election
They both were classy about it and it was nice that they both basically said it’s good vs evil this election without actually saying it is good vs evil

Our priest is a former lawyer and doesn’t hide his political leanings. I was disappointed he didn’t give the homily today lol

Just in prayer. It was a normal service.

Yes. My pastor didn't endorse any specific candidate or party, which isn't allowed.
He said Christians often disagree about many things and that's fine but certain issues are very clearly black and white when it comes to the bible and Christian theology.
He called out abortion, LGBT stuff, and religious liberty (Christian being forced to do things they believe are sinful under government punishment).
Said there was no debate about those issues, there was a clear right and wrong and urged people to take that into consideration into their vote as a Christian.
His ultimate message though was that no matter what God's kingdom is ultimate, etc.

In his closing announcements after the invitation the pastor (southern baptist) just stated that this was a consequential election and every Christian should vote. Said vote your conscience and whoever wins, God is still in control.
