What can we look forward to establishing a strong footprint on beautiful Veterans Blvd?

Beta is a hard market. Not sure anyone in the Lakeviews or NOLA proper ever think about driving out to Metry for a $15 Cuban sandwich or broiled trout dish. That spot is destined to be reclaimed by the fast food monster. It’s actually the old Burger King for those who can remember. I hope it won’t revert to fast food but the metry demographic will prove the numbers.

Yep. Leasing on Vets is very expensive.

That specific area of Metairie has been brutal for restaurants. I think the area has the money to sustain it (plenty of old money and inherited money) but you hop up just up W Esplanade or Vets to the Bucktown/Lakeview area and get a way better atmosphere and experience for what you pay. That specific area is just kind of a no man's land.

I think a CAVA would do well there.

There's one farther down on Vets by Clearview but that location would get a different crowd.

Place never made a lot of sense to me from a business model standpoint.

I’m kinda surprised it lasted as long as it did.

Food was decent. Sandwiches were good but pricy. The prepared food seemed like a half arse effort as far as selection, as they didn’t have much. Went a couple of times and didn’t ever feel the need or desire to return.

With the lease rates on Vets, will likely have to be a national chain who can afford to pay.

Places like Atomic and Southern’s seem to be doing ok on vets

Hard to be a regular at Larder with those prices. Food and drinks were goods, probably could’ve survived somewhere else like Metairie Rd or Magazine

foodies got the gourmet market thing right the first time, and they still couldn’t make it work. The food cost at a concept like that must be insane

Yeah but they were at least 10 years too early with their model.

Place was good, new owners ran it right into the ground it seems.

Put a Torchy's in there and watch the line back up traffic on Vets. That area of Metairie loves a new chain restaurant that doesn't already exist in the New Orleans market.

If it does end up being Chicken Salad Chick, that would be disappointing.

It didn’t seem like the original owners did all that great either
