I'm finding trust to be fleeting at the moment.......If he would mix in a little run when necessary

That 53% completion percentage and 7/6 TD/INT ratio in conference play ain’t gonna cut it. Next.

He would have to cut his picks in half for the year most likely. He’s too dangerous with the ball, I think that’s just him and it’s not changing

Those numbers aren’t encouraging, and you can’t undo any of it. BUT, 3 of those in his last game were just overly forcing things against likely the best D we’ll face, with zero running game present, then falling behind and trying to make too much happen. Hopefully he leaned from that. And ole miss and ark’s fronts were good too and he had a good game an average game with a good ending.

Beat a very beatable bama and everything is still right in front of us. But he has to make better decisions when it’s not there. He carved up arky and A&M in the first half. Just take what’s there and if not chunk it away and survive for the next play, even if that’s a punt.

Now do most of Joe Burrow's entire first year starting in 2018. Get a life.

Nuss has all the tools, and he will learn to run when it is there. However, I am concerned about his confidence following that last half of football. He needs to be smarter with the ball, which will come with experience....remember JD once had a season I believe with 10/10 at Arizone State or something like that. I did see Nuss, after a few interceptions in the game, missing passes that he normally makes to open receivers...and missing them to where no one could catch it including the rec. While he has to protect the ball better, he must also still be himself and not be totally focused on not throwing an interception. Confidence is everything in most sports, but especially so for QBs in bigtime programs.

People forget it wasn’t all sunshine and unicorns in burrow or Daniels first season. He can still finish string and hopefully come back to have a heisman season

People don’t remember the drops of catchable balls in the first half. If the receivers make these plays, and we take the rest of the points we left on the field, the first half, it wouldn’t have mattered who A&M put in at QB.

Meh, he’s like a Mettenberger imo
Good qb, but he’s no Joe or Jayden

Drop balls did not cost LSU that game

If we can fix that one warped rim and bald tire (the running game), the Nuss bus will be that bus from “Speed” or even “The Double Dutch Bus”.

I love how people say " he's no Joe or jayden". Such a stupid statement. He is absolutely Joe and Jayden in their first year. Get a grip people. He is still learning just like they were. We will see against Bama if he learned from the TAM loss. That is the most important thing for me. And there were some drops that would have extended drives in that game. It was a total team loss but Nuss needs to understand that he doesn't have to force a ball when you are up 17-7. That is the wisdom he needs to absorb.

The guy said stats in the conference. Here is the comparison for you

JB in his first 4 SEC games 54.55%, 933 yards, 4TDs/2Iints. @Auburn, vsOle Miss, @Florida, vsGeorgia

Nuss in his first 4 SEC games 53.71%, 1260 yards, 7TDs/6Ints. @South Carolina, vsOle Miss, @Arkansas, @aTm

Of course, those things are a bit arbitrary. JB played two home and two away in SEC play, but Nuss has played 3 away and 1 home game in SEC play. Suppose we back up one game then stats slightly favor Nuss. JB had two bad games in his 5th & 6th games and ended up 4/4 TDs/Ints Perhaps let's wait until the end of the season to render any judgment.

But for future comparison, since people will do that, here are JBs game by game in the SEC

Through 5 Games - 83/151, 54.97%, 1062 yards, 4/3 TD/Int

Through 6 Games - 101/186, 54.3%, 1246 yards, 4/4 TD/Int

Through 7 Games - 116/207, 56.04%, 1441 yards, 5/4 TD/Int

Through 8 Games - 141/245, 57.55%, 1711 yards, 8/4 TD/Int

What I recall from the time Burrow got here was his ability to make the right decision in the pocket. When to step up in the pocket, when to tuck it and run, when to dump it to the safety valve, when to give the ball to the back and even when to take a sack or throw it away. He was not perfect
or even nearly perfect in 2018, he was nearly perfect in 2019, but he was better than we had seen in many years. Nuss is not as good as Burrow was in 2018 in his decisions, but he is still better than most QBs we have had who were not national champs or Heisman trophy winners

Neither Joe nor Jayden had a 50% or less Completion percentage in any of their games. Nuss has done that twice this season.

Neither Joe nor Jayden threw off their back foot 3 seasons in to their career.

Neither Joe nor Jayden threw into double coverage regularly.

We aren't seeing growth from Nuss like we did from Joe or Jayden. We are seeing regression.
