First Baby on the Way!

Just wanted to thank everyone on here. A few months ago I posted asking for prayers on our first ultrasound after we had a miscarriage. All has gone well since then and my wife is scheduled for an induction this morning for our first child. Ready to embark on the best and most important job of my life. Any and all pointers appreciated!

Just keep reminding your wife that you pushed the kid out first and did it with no complaints.

How exciting for you both!

Damnit you’re making it tough to make jokes about incest with the story and all.
Congrats!

Bring a pillow from home for that god awful thing they make you sleep on at the hospital

Congratulations. I remember almost every detail about the birth of my kids almost 10 years later still. It’ll be the best day of your life.

Tomorrow will be 22 years since the birth of my first. It really does go by fast. In the frustrating moments, it won't seem that way, but years later you'll look back at pictures and say to yourself, "Wasn't that just last week?" How I wish I could go back.

Put the phone down more often during the quiet times around the house. If “nothing is going on and you’re just on the coach scrolling on your phone” you could be spending that time with your little one. I know it seems obvious but it’s an easy routine to get sucked into.
I have three boys (9, 6, and 2) and have boy number 4 due in March.
Time really does fly with them. Enjoy it all.

Having children will change a man (in a good way), you figure out that all you do is for someone else from now on.
And it's rewarding.
You will look back in five years and wonder what you ever did before kids

Sleepless nights only last a couple of months.
You still get to do all you liked to do, it’s just 50x better now.
Say prayers at night.
Never stop holding your child.
Take 5,000 pictures a day and never regret taking so many.
Slow down and live in the moment.

Just suck it up and do the family photos when she wants.

Side note, but this is good advice for a lot of travel situations IMO
