Is it an offensive coordinator? Is it another defensive coordinator?

Personally I would want an offensive coordinator to be head coach.

Maybe Frank Smith , Joe Brady, or Bobby Slowick.

See what Slowick did for C.J Stroud, might be helpful for Haener and Rattler?

Not sure we could afford Ben Johnson?

If we had to go defense coordinator for head coach, maybe Aaron Glenn?
Brian Flores has head coaching experience but seems like he's a headache to deal with.

Who would you want??

Coach O. The trick is that you never give him a real contract and give the label Interim HC indefinitely.

Offer everything you can to Ben Johnson, and when he says no, offer more.

prediction: we make a very public run at Ben Johnson, he obviously declines. Mickey then turns to Aaron Glenn.

I was going to say Mickey would interview both Ben and Glenn, and he takes the cheaper option.

Considering Mickey has a spending problem, and is not cheap by any metric (Payton was highest paid coach, cap woes, etc.) how does this make sense?

Johnson isn’t coming because the Saints are a bottom feeder franchise, not because of $.

It’s gonna depend on what other jobs are available. Doubt Ben Johnson would want to come here with the cap space and roster the way it is. If you were him, or any other top candidate, would N.O. be at the top of your list?

Not saying we can’t get a good coach, but I don’t think we are going to be at the top of anyone’s list.

Ben Johnson isn’t coming here, but not because we can’t afford him. He’s going to be very selective about any job he eventually takes.

We’re in a bad spot as far as what we can offer roster wise.

Johnson turned down jobs last year.

He is going to wait for the right job with the right QB possibilities and right ownership.

And that ain't us

Hes gonna wait for Cincy to fire Taylor. Or a similar job with a good roster/QB.

He turned down a bunch of teams last year as everyone's #1 choice.

The wildcard with that is the Bengals have the most notoriously cheap/bad owner in the NFL. The guy is UNBELIEVABLY cheap.

He once bought Rolex's for all of the office staff for Christmas...they were fakes.

There is no shot Ben Johnson picks us over other organizations. I do think we could pay him. But everyone is going to pay him.
