With modern medicine and training I think it’s possible in the next 10-20 years

ETA: kickers don’t count

It's already happened. There's been numerous soccer players and boxers with 30-year careers.

didn’t know who that was since I don’t follow hockey but that’s pretty damn cool. To still be playing professionally at 52 is insane. Hats off to him.

Possible in soccer where some of these guys play professional at 15. Maybe tennis?

I would say this is the least likely sport for it to ever happen in.

Knees and hips can’t make it. And you have no team to rely on to take some of your minutes. It’s just impossible. It would take another 9 years for Djok, the biggest freak ever to get there. Just no way

Julio Franco played more than 30 seasons of professional baseball, counting his time in the Majors, Minors, Mexican League, Japanese League, and Korean League.

To be clear, he wasn't stat padding playing in those lesser leagues too. 68.5% of his professional baseball games were in the big leagues.

Not true because Venus just finished her 30th year as a professional. Of course, she's a corpse who keeps getting undeserved wild cards but she's shown that it's very possible to last that long in tennis. Serena also could have played until 2025 and had a 30-year career if she really wanted to.

We are talking about sports. Not women

And Venus is actually good proof how it can’t be done. Even with undeserved wild cards and being in the less physical woman’s game she is 951 in the world….951 in the world for women is the equivalent of playing semi pro football in BR

Anyone can continue playing their sport and be horrific at it

3 years ago she was only able to play in 2/4 grand slams and lost 1st round and 3rd round

Not shot she could be around now 3 years later and actually make it on tour
