Psychology of the "angry Jeep" mod

I am a bit of an amateur psychologist. I enjoy observing what other people do and analyzing their motivations. I'm not talking about big things like "why did that guy decide to become an attorney?" but rather the myriad small aesthetic choices that (I find at least) are far more revealing of one's philosophy and inner state of mind.
The latest subject of my inquisitive nature is this thing people do to their Jeeps where they somehow modify a part of its front bodywork (the "header panel" I think) to give it a sort of cartoonish angry look. I want to know what message this is supposed to send, and what motivates people to do this.
Is the message "I, the vehicle owner am angry" or maybe "I am not afraid of a fight"?
Is the Jeep itself supposed to be angry?
Are we supposed to be intimidated, amused, or something else?
Is this all done out of whimsy, i.e. out of a sort of acknowledgment that Jeeps have a "face," which is a blank canvas? The owner has perhaps simply noticed this and is riffing on it for some reason, without any real message beyond that?
I make a point of observing who gets in an out of such Jeeps, and to a man they seem ordinary to me, even forgettable. Is the "angry Jeep" just the hot sauce on the otherwise bland mashed potatoes that their life is, metaphorically?
Finally, I've noticed that the "angry Jeep" face has the same basic expression as many "fursuits" I've seen, e.g.
This is a somewhat nuanced expression. I see in it a tiny bit of sadism and a certain careless hedonism. It says, "I am going to do something that makes you uncomfortable and I will really enjoy it."
Maybe that's what's going on with the Jeep thing, too?

Jeep owners are strange.
I hate it for the normal owners... I'd lose my shite if I was dude all proud of his CJ7 only to have Ashleigh duck it.
Same goes for Tesla. Elon is too toxic for Rs and Ds. I just wanna great car without the cult of personality.

I'm glad you posted a couple of furries instead of what you were actually talking about that I've never seen.

IMO there’s nothing deeply psychological, it is to be different at rallies etc
Superficial but they’re having fun with it..

Normal Jeep owner here. I have a 97 Wrangler 4.0 and I've owned it since. When they started the duck crap I told the wife the ducks are banned and don't even think about it

There's a guy in the town I live in (around 1500 people so I see him around often) who drives an angry jeep. It's black and he has lime green stickers all over it. I see him parked halfway on a curb quite often. There's another baw who rides around with a mannequin in the back and has grinch or something like that in green across it. It's not my thing and confusing to me but it's a harmless hobby. The jeep guys I've met who do this sort of thing have always been decent people and cool to talk to when they aren't talking about their jeeps.

quote:“It’s a jeep thing you wouldn’t understand” is meant for baws like OP.

I saw a soy boy yesterday with like a dozen rubber duckies on his Wrangler dashboard.

My son has a really good shape mid 80s Jeep - lift but not obnoxious, very off road capable. It doesn’t get driven much so every single once in a while I will drive it somewhere.
I had an “Ashleigh” park next to me, ducks strung across her dash, 4 doors (bad), clean jeep you know the type. She says I should join her jeep club, I tell her it’s my son’s jeep she keeps pushing. I ask where they off road. Her response? “It’s not that type of jeep club” they go to coffee shops and microbrews together. Nothing off road.
Stupid to own a jeep and not use it properly.

Yeah, you've seen the angry jeep mod. They are pretty common.

Most jeep owners are lesbians around here

I have noticed a trend recently (actually for MANY years) where truck owners, specifically 4WD drive trucks, lift their trucks in the range of 5+ inches. They add colored suspension parts as if to draw attention to the modification. Then they add large diameter wheels and low profile tires that they "stretch" to fit on the wide wheels. The trucks are always clean as shite (probably cleaner than their butthole) so it is obvious that the vehicles never leave pavement.
Please,
Do some research on this also and report back. Thanks!
