Anyone watch Caddo Lake?

It's a movie released today. Caddo Lake is imo an awesome lake. Best scenery of any lake I've been too. Obscure fact: the first offshore oil well/rig was on Caddo Lake in like 1905 or something. TD was 2,185' and produced 450 BOPD. For those of you in the industry, drilling a 2,185' well and making 450 BOPD would pay off in a couple months, like 30x+ ROI.
There is debate on what is considered first true offshore oil well because there ones drilled in 1898 and early 1900s, however they were constructed from piers extending from land. Caddo Lake was first site to construct a platform from barges and a wellhead that was not connected to land. It was founded from a production foreman of Guffy Oil (then Gulf Oil, then Chevron) saw gas bubbles in Caddo Lake, so he lit the gas and it trailed a fire all the way to the source over water.
Aside from the oil history, anyways, how is the movie?

Dang man. Your description had me all excited for a movie about the Allens in Oil City and early oil in north Caddo parish.
I went and watched the trailer and it’s definitely not that

Believe thats the lake that was made by a earthquake. Use to be a great bass fishing lake. See a big school of bass, put on a purple worm and reel them in.

Eh.....I think I'll watch There Will Be Blood again. At least I'll get to see a guy get the shite knocked out of him with a bowling pin.

I want to watch this just because it was actually filmed here on Caddo Lake and I live up here and have fished Caddo Lake quite a lot over the years, but man I just can't do M Night Shamalamdingdongs movies anymore.

I watched it last night. It was alright. Entertaining enough. However it was NOT what I was expecting.
Ending was fairly abrupt too.
I remember seeing the trailer a while back, but didn’t really remember anything about it, other than I must’ve thought it looked decent because I added it to my “what to watch next” list.

Wife and I went to Caddo Lake this past summer. Lots of baws out there with their mud motors making all kinds of racket. Supposedly its a hotspot for Bigfoor sightings.

I am watching it right now. I was super into it when it was just about finding this little girl in basically an infinite area of lake, where finding her is going to be nearly impossible and then halfway through it it turns into a fricking time travel movie and I’m like oh frick this

I just finished this movie and I hated it so much. If it was a person, I would punch it in the face.
So the little girl was the dude from the maze runners mom, and the dude from the maze runner was that girl who was looking for the little girls dad so it’s basically a snake eating its tail

I think its become a spot for mud boat runs and what not. I think Texas did a lot to get rid of the salvania (like a lot of the lakes up around there)not sure about the LA side though. I know a lot of old timers killed a lot of ducks up there.
As for the movie, it was entertaining for something different and familiar scenery. Worth a watch once in my opinion.
Was the red head (younger one) Dennis Hopper's grand daughter or whatever, the Billy Bob's daughter in Goliath?

For mindless murder doc's Elm street show and Cabin the Woods are enjoyable if you like that sort of stuff.

Just finished it.
I thought it was decent, but a much better version of this concept is the series Dark.

Trailer turned me off when someone said that the wolves are normally seen deep in the swamp.

I didn’t care for it. It felt like a rushed, cheap knockoff of Dark.

Love that screen name. Our dachshund that’s almost two is named Hooch and “Hooch is crazy” is said multiple times a day around here.

Why did you hate it? I thought it was an entertaining take. Made me think the entire time. Slow reveal where different people figured out the twist at different times. I enjoyed it.
It didn't try to win any awards, just tried to be entertaining. It was.

Yeah, I didn't hate it, either, but the premise was silly. He spends a year trying to figure out why his mom had a seizure when she had a history of seizures? I think it would have worked better if he experienced the phenomenon, try to find out what caused it, then realize it was related to his mom's seizures. There was no explanation why that area was a portal.
