Long weekend with the wife (kids staying with the grandparents).
What do you recommend?
We have reservations at Elote Cafe and have a few hikes penciled in based on recommendations from work colleagues.
What should we do there other than hike?

Rent some mountain bikes. Sedona has some great trails.

I’d recommend Safari Jeep Tours. Ask for JC. Guy was a wealth of information.

One of the stargazing tours. I kind of rolled my eyes at this, but my wife wanted to do it. It was amazing. They set you up with these very large telescopes, it’s programmed to move to different things (planets, consolations, individual stars) and they had some guy from nasa telling you what they were and different facts.
I’ll add cathedral rock for sunrise. Get there really early and you’ll have to hike / climb in the dark.

Second both of these.
We just went in May. We also did the Grand Canyon if you've never been there.
Another good outing we did was a kayaking/wine tasting deal. You kayak down the Verde River and end up at a vineyard for wine tasting.

Get one at Mariposa Grill too.

Mariposa and Elote are both musts.
Elote is good but Mariposa is special. It is a higher end type of place though.
Def do one of the jeep tour companies. Lots of good hikes.
Its a very pretty place

Just finished my second trip to sedona last week. Both times we did a canyon tour on 4 wheelers via Arizona ATV adventures. The views are insane. From my understanding, you can go places the jeeps can't. Get reservations at Mesa Grill and try to watch the sunset. We were only there for a few days as well this time. We hiked to devil's bridge and bell rock. Then we spent from about 12-5 at slide rock. It was insane! As far as food, the places the others mentioned are top of the line, but if you want something more low key, Creekside American Bistro, Hideaway House, The Vault, and Pagos' Italian were great! The chapel is also a must see. It doesn't take long. We were in and out in about 20 minutes. Have fun!

Biggest suggestion is to do a few hikes in the canyon, not just red rock hikes. The other thing I would suggest is to consider an ATV rental over a jeep tour but I am not one who's overly excited about guided tours.

Seconded. Wife and I went to Sedona (again) a little over a month ago; that was our favorite dining spot there.
We did some hiking; did the Airport Mesa loop, a bunch of different trails in Red Rock State Park (both of which which I'd highly recommend). I would NOT recommend hiking to the Seven Sacred Pools, which is more like the seven small stagnant water holes. We already did Devil's Bridge and Slide Rock State Park when we went there in 2007, which are also recommended.
Another neat thing is to walk the grounds of L'Auberge Sedona, down in the very beautiful shady green valley of Oak Creek.
And while you're there, make sure to have a prickly pear cactus margrarita or two:

As someone mentioned, Mariposa. We went back in May. I spent too much money, but it was an outstanding meal. Saltrock is also good. The Vault for a drink in the evenings is cool. Great view.
I'd stay away from mountain bikes if you don't have much experience. It's a very advanced place to ride bikes, even the easy stuff.
Sliderock state park is pretty cool if you want to get out of town.

mariposa
Pisa Lisa
Dahl and deluca
fresh and natural Thai
basecamp (beer)
the local (coffee & juice)
if you have a 4wd vehicle drive up schnebly road to the cowpies (go early, bring water).
sedona is a special place. Go with an open mind and let it do it its thing. There’s a reason that area has been sacred for centuries
