Lately my wife (no pics) has been complaining about my snoring. Because our phones listen to our conversations, I've been seeing snoring products in my social feeds. I'm 50 something, in decent shape and trying to avoid a sleep study & CPAP because that's only for fatties. Has anyone used any of these OTC remedies?

ETA- Appreciate all the comments. Looks like I'm down to either a sleep study or a divorce :-)

CPAP. I sleep so much better and there's zero snoring.

This is from someone who once had his snoring described as "a bear on a tractor making love to a chainsaw"

The Sleep Medicine industry is a total scam but CPAPs work miracles if you need one.

Give her a couple D cell batteries in a tube sock. That ought to solve the issue.

I tried this but it takes time for your jaw to move back the next morning. It was problematic for me causing my top teeth to hit my bottom teeth when chewing - even after wearing an appliance to help the lower jaw move back to its normal position for an hour after waking.

Haven't snored since I got my tonsils and adenoids out a couple months ago.

CPAP isn’t for fatties baw, sleep apnea is a silent killer and is hereditary. Your tongue either falls into your throat and you suffocate yourself throughout the night or some people have a condition where their brain doesn’t signal to tell them to breathe in their sleep. Not only will it slowly kill you from sleep deprivation, but also leads to heart disease, strokes, and heart attacks. You might not have it but you can have an at home sleep study to rule it out. 80% of people with sleep apnea are undiagnosed.

I had sleep apnea in college when I was a skinny dude. I just didn’t get a machine then. I have one now and I’m also a fat ugly frick, but there’s not a direct correlation.

6’-1”…180…in shape and a CPAP user. Don’t ever base your medical needs on anyone else but you. Go see the sleep doctor and move on with life.

Will your PCP do the sleep study or do you go to a specialist?

Wife and both sons had adult tonsillectomies. They aren't fun.
