LINK

I have a buddy at work who has a son that is a junior in high school and is starting to make college plans.

Anyway, his son wants to go to Alabama and is interested in Greek life and my buddy showed me this “consultant” who helps kids get bids to fraternities they want. Is this a real thing?

To me this is a weird arse way to spend your time as a grown man.

Maybe i’m just out of the loop, but this seems like a bridge too far to me.

If he hasn’t already locked in with a consultant all the good ones will be full for his years.

I love this thread. This is exactly how most people feel about "Greek life" in general.

That's nothing. There are professional "Dorm Room Decorators" now.

People are paying up to $15,000 to have their daughters dorm room professionally decorated. Lord help the poor bastard that marries that "princess"!

His page is crazy and almost seems like satire. But I don’t think it is.

Did he get a 2 for 1 special for the "how to make friends in high school" consultant?

or the bundle that includes both plus the "how to never be yourself" consultant?

Both sides are judging off of first impressions and small talk conversations. It’s not a bad idea.

Paying for friends. Tsk tsk.

Join the band. They pay you.

I’m hoping he doesn’t pay this clown at all.

Why?

If people want to get into a fraternity, and he understands the best way to do that, why is getting paid for offering his services weird?

Maybe he has a family to feed and makes more than he could elsewhere? I'd worry zero about what other people thought of my profession if my family was safe and fed.

This plus all the videos the ladies make to me has jumped the shark. It’s all getting too prepackaged and stale.

Never was in a fraternity but this is just weird to me.

Until the Yankees took over Bama, you'd get bids your junior year of HS.

Yeah it's weird, but if you knew the ins and outs of UA greek life and had people willing to pay a shite ton of money for your help, you'd do it too. It's way worse with the sororities. It's stupid, but UA greek is a different animal and people are desperate.
