Garrett Nussmeier has 110 completions through four games this season, the most in LSU history. Not too shabby.

He does, and our running scheme needs to improve so he's not throwing so much. His efficiency will improve if both things happen, which is good for LSU.
He's doing fine considering our running issues and having such a high passing volume, though.

The only reason he has all those completions is because we don't have a good run game. Signed, Lester Earl, SFP.
LMAO...this pos (SFP) got in here before I could even hit submit.

Member hearing the only reason JD has all those rushing yards is because he can’t throw the ball down field? I member.
Anyone that is saying Nuss isn’t good QB is just as wrong as anyone who said JD wasn’t a good QB.

In fairness, he would not throw the ball downfield very much at all in 2022. He did in 2023.

They are right, at least in part. Nuss has done a good job, but our one dimensional offense isn't going to fly in conference play.

I don't think you can realistically expect his efficiency to improve.

And in all fairness Nuss won’t run the ball. Both are still very good QBs.
This fan base just loves to look for stupid shite to bitch about.neither QBs were “the problem” that was holding the team back in any way.

I agree although I thought the running game was improved this week vs. UCLA. The type of fronts they were giving us were not good to run the football and we still did pretty effectively. Nuss throwing it so much is more on how teams are playing us. Teams are putting extra hats in the run fit and saying okay dink and dunk it down the field with Nuss and eventually you'll make a mistake. We need Hilton to come back so we can take the top off of these type defenses.

Um, why? Especially if we can create a running game.

He's been A+

Are you saying if we had a better run game we would still pass as much?

Nuss is doing great. But there are times when he can walk for a 1st down if he keeps the ball on an RPO. And it will keep the defense honest. Even if only 2 times a game. He can still slide but man they are giving him the outside. We had a second and 2 against UCLA and the 2 receivers to the left
had a corner 10 yds off and a safety 15 yds off. When he went to hand the ball off to Durham the end crashed and there was nothing but green to the left. Could have gotten 8 yds before a defender got anywhere near him. maybe more if the receivers block properly. Just can't believe they won't take advantage of this at some point. Maybe saving it for OM. Will see.

Agreed. Needs to keep it more to keep the defense honest

People don't need to complain about Nuss.

Does he have the most attempts, too?
Modern QB’ing at LSU is 5 years old. They are 15-20yrs behind a lot of schools lol

Nuss has been outstanding! If anyone is watching him operate and the rhythm of the game, he is in complete control of this offense. It’s impressive for a first year starter. Is he perfect, no. No one is. But his feel for anticipation is incredible!
