Obviously, you get the physical pain and suffering, mental pain and suffering, lost wages, medical expenses, disability, etc..
But this is the first time I heard of Loss of joy in Life.
I guess Mental Pain & Suffering doesn’t cover that?
What a racket..

Some here can probably sue their wives for this

Can I sue just for that?? I need to call my lawyer.

In general, lawyers are right up there with politicians and lobbyists as some of the biggest pieces of shite on this planet.

If the accident/iniury affects your sex with your spouse you can include loss of consortium.

That's been in 80% of auto suits I've defended for years.

I’m sure they will come up with another item to add to the list to specifically grift more money from lawsuits.

It’s only there if you think they’ve proved their case and award it to them

Loss of enjoyment of life has been a part of it forever.
If you used to enjoy life but can't anymore because you are constantly in pain because of someone's negligence, you get compensation for that.
It is a racket as long as it happens to someone else and not you.

Moat people I've heard named Joy are generally the most miserable

We can complain about insurance rates but we are cool as long as Gordon gives those fat NIL checks, right?

When it’s included in a boiler plate lawsuit document for every auto accident no matter the severity, it sure as shite is a racket.

Everyone says that, until they need an attorney. Funny how that works.

Without plaintiffs looking for a payday, the lawyers would be out of work. The lawyer is obligated to communicate any and all settlement offers to their client, and it’s the clients decision whether to accept it or push for more.

Watch out. You're making the OT ambulance chasers big mad.

That’s not new
If I enjoy fishing offshore and can’t do it anymore after an accident, I just lost one of my joys of life.
Not saying it’s right or wrong, just that it’s a thing

It's the same thing as "pain and suffering" general damages. Just a dramatic phrasing.

Loss of joy claims have been around "forever" the "value" for them is normally lumped in with P&S.
Wait until you find out about loss of consortium claims.
