Not sure what he graded out at, but he was much better yesterday than anticipated. I know Carolina ain’t it, but their DLine had some players.

Maybe he is getting more comfortable.

He is definitely improving. Not there yet, but hopefully he is gaining confidence. He's going to need it versus Dallas.

He is still going to be a work in process.

Penning will completely miss a block like he is thinking to much.

Hopefully the more reps he gets the more settled down he will get. Rt was the right move. Lt was just to much for him.

I think play calling helped him a ton. We ran the ball a lot and he excels at run blocking. Run blocking is aggressive and violent while pass blocking is defensive and is alot more technical. Penning is like a wild animal that seems to enjoy the violence.

Next week will be a better test because i doubt we hang 47 on Dallas.

I think if we can hit 27, we can win. This defense looks very much legit

I agree tran. We know we’re always going to have a competent defense under Allen. But Chase Young and healthy Lattimore, we could be looking at a top 5 D.

You’re right the panthers weren’t much of a test as I predicted but he is improving. Unfortunately he’s not playing like a first round pick yet which is unfortunate because it would be awesome if he were but he can continue to improve and be a solid RT for the saints.

For what it’s worth, some loser Saints so call fans will crap on him every chance the can and hope he fails so they can justify their pity party.
Stay away from those people. They’re not worth your time.

Well lets pump the brakes and see what happens this weekend with Dallas's pass rush. Parsons vs Penning/Fuaga.

Considering he's not in the bottom 5 for grade, I would say it's a start!

Here are the highest and lowest PFF grades awarded from Sunday’s game:

TOP 5

Center Erik McCoy – 90.7
Tight end Juwan Johnson – 87.8
Quarterback Derek Carr – 87.5
Safety Tyrann Mathieu – 81.8
Running back Alvin Kamara – 81.6

BOTTOM 5

Defensive end Payton Turner – 43.5
Defensive tackle Bryan Bresee – 42.2
Linebacker Khaleke Hudson – 30.5
Wide receiver Bub Means – 24.7
Linebacker Willie Gay Jr. – 24.4

He showed why he was a 1st round pick against the Panthers. Dude is huge and athletic but it's a big test this week against Parsons and the Cowboys. Hope the improvement continues.

He played decent. Kubiak put help on his side with TEs and RBs. The more he plays the better he'll get. We finally have an OC that understands how to run an offense.

I think we'll be OK because as long as they are opening up holes for 5-7yd rushes ,the defense can't pin their ears back. But we know there will be times where the line just breaks down. It's up to Kubiak to keep that to a minimum until these guys get up to speed. I am confident they are working on fixing this line and not trying to mask it all season.

Did they really though? I was at the game so I did not have benefit of the broadcast replay of each snap to watch him closely everytime but I did not notice them utilizing anybody to help chip aside from maybe 3 plays.

He had an above average to good game against an above average to good player in Jadeveon Clowney. That is a freaking WIN any way you slice it.

Not you specifically but it's comical how others are saying this will be the real test going against Parsons. Parsons is the BEST edge rusher in all of football right now and people are already getting ready to shite on Penning if/when he gets beat or gets a holding call or has to have a TE/RB chip. News flash folks literally every team every week does that against the BEST edge rusher in the league. I'm not saying Penning automatically gets a pass if he has a bad game, but it's unrealistic to expect him or even Fuaga to have great games against Parsons

Yes. I watched his side most of the game so I couldn't tell you what Fuaga looked like. Run blocking Penning was pretty good but pass blocking he definitely had help. Even if it was just a chip block. It was there. If you ask him to be on an island in pass blocking be prepared for a sack. He's not up to speed yet. There's alot of room for improvement in that area.

He did get away with some holding that wasn't called. Even on run plays.

Dallas hit Deshaun Watson 17 times last week.

We will find out a lot about this offense real quick.

I thought I read or heard somewhere that Cleveland didn't have all of their top Olinemen available for the game but I guess it doesn't really matter.

That's a lot anyway

Sucks for the Cleveland Steamers but good for our coaching staff in seeing it on film and trying to scheme against it.
