A Canton cop has been removed from duty after kicking a compliant suspect in the chest. Other officers on the scene reported that the suspect was complying at the time officer Momirov ran up and kicked him. Momirov was later recorded on body cam attempting to apologize to the suspect and calling it "not personal". Momirov is likely facing criminal charges.

*moments before the chest kick*

Victim: “What’re you gonna do, kick me in the chest?”

If it really wasn’t personal and he apologized the “victim” is kind of being a dick here by not letting it go.

Nah. He's doing the lords work by getting that cop fired.

Good. He doesn't deserve to be a cop.

Maybe if you guys spent half the energy praising the good cops out there instead scouring the internet for the bad apples to bash on, then more good people would be joining the police force.

As it stands now everyone hates them, wants to defend them and videos everything they do hoping to be able to go viral on the internet for clicks. And they do all that for shite pay. No wonder the police is full of undertrained idiots. No intelligent, stand up citizen would take that job.

Threads like these are just self fulfilling prophecies.

The situation looks like it was pretty much under control with four other cops in the vicinity, and bro dude literally comes flying out of nowhere to kick the suspect in the chest while he’s on his knees. What the hell.

This is the last kind of person you’d want to be a cop.

Makes it sound like he was fired.

Article says he is working in a reduced capacity.

LEOs spent decades/centuries covering for their colleagues no matter how bad their behavior, lying on police reports, planting evidence, abusing citizens, and once we rolled out body cams, just like fricking magic, the bad behavior footage starts rolling in. And the worst part? Without public outcry, in a depressing number of cases, the cop will be quietly suspended with pay for a couple of weeks, or at worse get “fired” and immediately hired onto the force if the jurisdiction next door.

I have good friends who are LEOs. I’m by no means ACAB. But frick anyone who objects to the brightest of lights being shone on officer misconduct. It’s absolutely necessary.

Getting kicked in the chest is always personal.

When you carry a badge and a gun, the standards are higher. When people routinely hear that pay is low but then every year you see stories of people retiring from LE with six figure pension payments, don't expect a lot of sympathy to flow from the general public.
