1859 – Petroleum is discovered in Titusville, Pennsylvania, leading to the world's first commercially successful oil well.
1918 – Mexican Revolution: Battle of Ambos Nogales: U.S. Army forces skirmish against Mexican Carrancistas in the only battle of World War I fought on American soil.
1939 – First flight of the turbojet-powered Heinkel He 178, the world's first jet aircraft.
1955 – The first edition of the Guinness Book of Records is published in Great Britain.
1962 – The Mariner 2 unmanned space mission is launched to Venus by NASA.
1985 – Space Shuttle Discovery is launched on STS-51-I to deploy three communication satellites and repair a fourth malfunctioning one.
2003 – Mars makes its closest approach to Earth in nearly 60,000 years, passing 34,646,418 miles (55,758,005 km) distant.

Morning everyone.
Xfinity is out again this morning. Noticed on the app that they are touting “new 2x the internet speed” so I am guessing they are trying to quietly upgrade hardware and yet the app tells customers that the outage is due to their modem and not the network connection. Wonder if a claim can be made for false advertising??? Get the neighbors involved and make it class action just to make it as inconvenient for the corporation?
Anyway, hope everyone has a great day. Several days with rain forecast now showing in the 10 day forecast so there’s hope for dry heat relief!

Hopefully today I can finish a tedious project from yesterday. I swear people don’t know how to layout information to make a useful database file. Item by item for 4301 lines but thankfully just 10 columns of data.
Anyway, y’all have a great day and celebrate at lunch with a run to the border.
