writing was on the wall when they signed green.

This gets them less tax burden and an open roster spot

So long, sweet prince. Hope they bring back at a smaller number. I thought, before he got injured, he had the potential to be a decent rotation piece.

I think league rules prohibit this

There is no smaller number, he was on a minimum.

I do wonder though if maybe he asked for a release? Maybe sees no opportunity for minutes and wants to try somewhere else.

Bad move. I don't understand why they don't value Matt's services. I'm a bit disappointed. Some team will pick him up quick now.

Harvin.

Perfect guy to keep on a two way.

I doubt he asked for his release.

I could see someone with an open spot taking a chance on him.

I don’t think you can drop a guy from a full roster deal down to a two way. At least I can’t recall that ever happening. He would have to be waived from his current deal then re-signed, but I don’t think you can re-sign a guy you’ve waived for a year in the NBA

According to Shamit, as long as he clear waivers we can.

If we can get him back on a 2 way I'd really like that.

Dude was money from 3 when he played.

Guessing we would cut Malcolm Hill to make it happen. Not many teams I can think of that would go after him except for maybe Cleveland who needs cheap depth.

Sure you can re-sign a guy that was waived. Many teams do it to avoid a full guarantee date.

Matt, similar to the rest of the Pels, gets injured when he's on a roll. He has CJ, Hawkins, and Reeves in front of him for wing shooting so he may look for playing time on another team and gets it.

Didn’t know that was an option. Maybe because it’s a non guaranteed contract?

He was signed for the vet minimum or very close to it. I don’t think we’d waive him just to resign him for basically the same contract. We have more roster flexibility with an open roster spot, so we can sign a center if there’s a buyout during the season or we can take an additional player in a trade.

Wow for a team that needs to be based on hitting 3s that Zion opens up we just got rid of one our best pure shooters. Stupid move IMO. A playoff team will be all over Ryan. He’s never going to be a 30 minute gabe player but he can come in and give you great shooting for 10-15 minutes.

Lol I said this many times. It always made me chuckle when Pels fans on here considered Matt Ryan when discussing the roster. He was never a genuine piece of the rotation, it was always apparent.

Exactly, I was really excited for him when they signed him. He is a floor spacer.

He's also a truly awful defender. I hope that we can get him back on a two-way, but there was no way that he was getting minutes this season without significant injuries to several of our players.
