Slight spin off from another thread but we’re looking at ordering a 2025 Yukon or Tahoe. Dealerships up here are Rainbow GMC, Ross Downing, and Legacy. Chevy dealers are Bill Hood, Matt Bowers and Ross Downing. Anyone have experience with them - good or bad? Or recs for any others?

Even in Baton Rouge there are a lot of cars with the Ross Downing dealer sticker. I’d start there.

If you want to order a GMC, the dealer in New Roads is very good but kind of a long drive.

Just Google what you want and see who has it the cheapest in the distance you wouldn’t mind driving

You’ll show up and it’ll be already reserved or in transit

Then you’ll haggle with them and they’ll give you something similar in the same price range

Or you can order and wait 2 months

Ross Downing in Gonzalez is the best around.

I bought my denali from them a year ago. Not an exaggeration I bought it in 14 texts from start to finish. They delivered it to Mandeville the next day.

We've been really happy with Ross Downing as far as their customer service goes. That being said, we'll never buy another GM vehicle again. My wife and I both bought new GM vehicles in 2019 and have had nothing but problems with them since. Ross Downing has went above and beyond to help us out though.

I ordered from Leson Chev quite a few years ago and it was a good purchase. However, get with the sales guy when the order is placed with the factory to ensure all the correct option codes were submitted.

I bought a GMC Sierra at Rainbow GMC and the experience was fine. I went to Hood Chevrolet first and they wouldn’t budge on their prices for their trucks. This was December 2022. I went to Rainbow GMC and they were more than willing to work with me and I was able to get a nicer truck for a lot less than what was at Hood Chevrolet. I would call around and figure out which dealership will give you the best deal.

If he’s getting a 2025 Suburban or Yukon…he likely won’t get much off the sticker. May as well order the exact one he wants.

I use Royal in BR they are easy for deal with I purchased 3 automobiles and never had an issue.
They a bit "cultured" but they bend over backwards for the non cultured because they are used to dealing with bs from the cultured folks. It pays to have excellent credit

Part of the reason I asked was bc someone in the other car dealers thread shat on Rainbow, called them human scum, and got several upvotes so wasn’t sure what the experience was with them and others.

Barker GMC Houma I found to be very honest and easy.

Had great experience at Ross Downing in Hammond with a few vehicles. Will never set foot in the Gonzales Ross Downing again. Horrible experience.
Gerry Lane GMC in Baton Rouge was by far the best and most enjoyable buying experience though.

Don't know Matt Bowers, I'd be good with either of the other two dealerships.
