Went to my lease in Grand Chenier this weekend to ride around. Nothing but tree ducks.

August full moon should at least push the drake blue wings our way? All depends on the hatch to what kind of September we’re going to have.

Pecan Island report - several small groups (thought to be residents).

West of Houston - second crop rice water going on now. Birds are arriving and finding the fresh water.

Not in most of y'alls area but just before Debby dumped about 10 inches of rain in our area there were close to 100 using a pay lake complex about 1 mile as the crow flies from the Savannah river. I haven't seen them since the hurricane came through but they were here way early.

River Parishes drove around last weekend, did'nt see any. Yesterday saw two flocks. Not a lot, but definitely starting to show up.

I'm just east of the Columbus, Eagle Lake, Garwood flyway. I'll start watching. Got a little 1 acre pond that my son and I are going to try and hunt at the back of our place this year.

I saw none on 3600 acres of fish ponds where we hunt in NEA last week. I'm going out to put cattails on a blind on Thursday and I'll report back.

New regulations on wham brake this year. No bird scouting at all 2 weeks prior to teal season. Should help hold birds without people running them out.

A few whistlers, some lightening bugs, and a snake hunting field mice at the deer feeder this evening. I’ll take that any August evening.

Probably didn’t help we were cutting the back pasture for hay this afternoon.
