Per Catherine Engelbert of True the Vote in Tucker interview, Congress passed Title 18 preventing illegal aliens from being penalized at all for voting in federal elections if they thought at the time they were citizens.

It’s very interesting that we have an entire party in government that we supposedly elect - called Republicans - that maybe could have worked to prevent this.

I may be wrong but I read that to be the immigrants won’t be penalized (charged) for voting. The county should still review their status and void the ballot. We all know that won’t happen however.

I think that was the intention simply to not punish them if they don’t know any better. With that said, it is stupid and inviting further chaos. I think there should be a penalty regardless. This is like a person with a sickly parent voting in their place and then claiming that they didn’t know it was wrong. I voted the way my mom would have.
