My BIL is a diehard Dem, and he can barely even talk to his own father, who is MAGA. Meanwhile, me and FIL have fun picking on sad BIL.

I have a sister that doesn’t talk to my brother and I much because we’re Trump supporters. Honestly I haven’t lost a minute of sleep over it. I don’t have room in my life for people that let disagreements on politics get in the way of relationships. Family or not.

we only have 1. I converted the rest years ago. I tell her to park in the back if she is too embarrassed by my Trump sign. it is useless to argue with her. she believes MSNBC.

Not really a falling out, but my dad never stops complaining about politics. It's not that we disagree. I just get tired of hearing the rant.

My sisters and mom telling me what was going on during Katrina while I was sitting in BR with Blackhawks flying over my house all day, while they lived thousands of miles away was where it took a turn.

More recently, the political falling out was bubbling before Trump (ex-SIL and her husband.) Adults can do adult things, but bringing my kids to a public pool and explaining how some nine year olds have penises and wear girls two piece swimsuits was a real punch you in the ovaries moment when my kids asked about it while the kid was being undressed at the pool, and not in the changing room, which was weird by itself (I think that was 2019.)

They can suck arse and set their youngest up for lifelong anxiety, and luckily, my kids are old enough now not to fall for that shite.

I also had a falling out with my ex-MIL, who is a hardcore (R) and loves Trump, because she wouldn't STFU, ever, and just enjoy meatloaf Monday. You're in an echo chamber, can we talk about your water yoga class or something?

My SIL is one of the dimmest individuals I’ve ever met and she thinks that because she watches Fox and tik tok, she has a grip on American politics. I just love to troll her.

In today’s scenario trying to confront and convince someone who is of the opposite political persuasion is like trying to push religion to them. Talk can’t change self-delusional people’s minds, only the painful consequences of unwise actions can. Good people come to the truth in their own time.

Not directly, but politics is what caused one young family member to cut ties with the family, who were too conservative and didn’t have anything to offer them financially.

A couple of nieces are so bad that they unfriend and block because they are Dems and can’t discuss nor debate without getting angry. It’s their way or else….so, goodbye!

My nephew wore a White Dudes for Harris shirt.

He got cussed out, spit on, and eventually punched in the teeth.

That’s when he decided to leave the house.
