I cant even fathom how bad the mom feels.

Read Here

FHP said the 12-year-old dropped her school supplies and crawled under the car to retrieve them. FHP said the mother didn't know the girl crawled under the car and began to drive forward.

I remember when my kids were little hearing about a mom who accidentally drug her kid to death when her jacket got caught in the car door in the morning drop off line.

I always made sure my car was in park and that my kids were walking away before I moved.

This is horrible to imagine as a parent.

Oh my god. Just a nightmare of a bad sequence of events. Praying she makes it.

K-5th grade at my kids school changed carpool process a few years ago. The teacher is the one to open the door and doesn't close it until the child is clear of the vehicle. They won't let kids open the door and get out by themselves anymore.

Also, they are hardcore about no cellphones while in line too.

Worked a similar call to this in ems nearly 20 years ago. Of all the bad shite I've seen that one is what nearly ended my career. Had to go to pretty intensive therapy for it, freaking devastating. I don't go a day without thinking about her. At the time, I brought my daughter to school, that was the call that made all my kids start riding busses. I avoid looking at car lines as best I can.

does a 12 year old not know any better than to do this without first signaling to the mother what happen and needs to get under the car, or wait for the car to move? I could see a 3 year old not knowing better, not 12.

Yeah, I do carpool every day. This is a failure on the part of the people operating carpool and the mom. It's not that hard. Is the kid special needs? What 12-year old goes under a car without asking or telling?

When I was in Kindergarten a kid go off our bus and got smushed by the bus. Some things can't be unseen - the driver was rumored to be stone cold drunk too.
