First season they tried to hard to make Leslie a female Michael Scott and they underutilized Ron.

By season 3 they figure out the formula pretty well.

My favorite sitcom of all time… I think. I have very few grumbles about the show in general.

I think they were just trying to find their footing but they definitly tooo off when Ron and Andy became bigger characters

Spoilers for the OP I guess:

Peak P&R is when Andy is working the Shoe shine stand.

The scene where he is hungover after drinking the Snake Juice is maybe one of the funniest moments in television.

What made p&r so great is that they used the background characters sparsely and didn’t try to push people to the front all the time ( Kyle’s, Councilman Jamm, Shauna, the Douche, Brandi Maxx, John Ralphio, etc. )

Office said “Andy did Hangover… front and center.”

Tennifer & Ethel Bevers.

Parks & Rec is one of the greatest sitcoms of all time & Ron Swanson is legendary. Hollywood will never cast a libertarian in a positive way ever again. Enjoy his character while you can.

Are there people saying it’s bad? I thought most people enjoyed it.

I think prplhze2000 is trolling with this topic.

Parks is a terrific show as others have said, but it takes a bit to find it's footing. They wanted a The Office placed in government and tried to mirror some characters which didn't work. Once they saw the characters develop, and especially when Adam Scott and Rob Lowe came on board, it's some of the best stuff.

For posters here that gravitate towards subtle intelligent comedy, this is easily a top X for us. It's in my personal top 3 with Community and B99. AD, Scrubs, etc. all in that space, with just different preferences.

Great show.

Also has one of the funniest out-take jokes I’ve ever seen. It’s a tie between the “comeback story” and Ashley Shaffer’s bluish hue.

I’m 99% that is an ad-lib outtake from Pratt and not used in the show.

As well as “i keep wiping and wiping and wiping and it’s like I’m wiping a marker.”

I don’t know if P&R or Pratt should appreciate who more for finding each other. Launched them both insanely.

I can go on an on about the show.

Wasn't trolling. Had not seen it before. Watched a couple of Aubrey Plaza clips on Youtube and thought I would watch a few episodes. The hernia bit with Ron was hilarious.
