Pan Zhanle and the 100m Swim

The last time someone won the men’s 100m by more than a full second was 1928.
The Chinese have not placed a man in the 100m final once at the Olympics in the 21st Century until this year.
Pan almost missed the semifinal by swimming 48.40. He swam a 47.21 in the semis. He shaved 2 seconds (2 body lengths) off of his swim in two rounds.
No World Record had been broken the entire meet until that final.
Judge for yourself:
2024
2021
2016
2012
2008

2000

"You can't beat a pack like that, with a body length lead. They are the best in history. It's humanly impossible," said Australian coach and former Olympian Brett Hawke.
“If you go out fast, it’s going to cost you at the end of the race. If you go out slow you may have something to bring it back,” Hawke told Sky Sports New..
“Now, Pan Zhanle went out extremely fast yesterday and came back faster than the best known back-enders in history - Kyle Chalmers, David Popovich - two of the fastest swimmers.”
“... Kyle Chalmers is renowned for coming over the top of people and Pan Zhanle from China was pulling away from these two guys.
“He (Pan) was actually gaining distance on them in the second 50 (metres) after going out faster than any human in history.
“It makes no sense to be able to go out that fast and come home, and pull away from two of the greatest swimmers in history. Makes no sense.”

This feels exactly like when I grew up watching East German swimmers.

To what do you attribute his outstanding performance?

The guy broke his own world record so it’s not like it was out of the blue

Dude's a coach from Australia, but not an Australian national coach. Also, I'm 100% his best swimmer failed a PED test. Mid June Brett was the spearhead for kensey mcmahon's sympathy campaign, for her 4 year doping ban for PEDs. Dude makes unsubstantiated claims against folks who've never failed a test and defends athletes who have failed tests, aka a fricking clown.

Dude’s 19 and set the WR earlier this year. He broke it by .4 seconds. Go watch the other 6 finals and look at the progression of times. It takes years to lower the times by that much. The winner in 2000 won at 48.3. It took 24 years to get the time down to 46.8 and he drops it another .4 in just months?

The Chinese swimmer is tested so many times before and during the Olympics.
What do you think more likely:
A. Chinese invented a new drug that can not be detected even with the most advanced technologies.
B. The swimmer is clean. He is gifted.

A, easily
dopers are always a few years ahead of the tests, which is why they keep blood samples and 2 years from now the golds will be stripped

.4 in a slow pool.
Records aren’t being broken except by this guy.
idk the chinese Swim program is dirty AF.
They had swimmers competing in these games who tested positive for Anabolic in 2022 but were cleared by China’s anti-doping agency.
23 allegedly tested positive for another PED before tokyo but again were cleared.
WADA seems to be fine letting China’s doping agency clear athlete after athlete.
so I guess the answer is, dope like crazy. have you government cover up for you I. the off season and let it clear your system before the olympics and worlds.

Anecdotal I realize but, after the relay in which China won gold I remember thinking they all were considerably more jacked than any other team.

We're talking the Chinese here. They have no qualms about researching live humans for whatever experiments they can dream up.
There's no telling what they have.

And don't forget that the Olympics are extremely important to China. They are committed to creating a superior persona to broadcast to the entire world. I have zero belief in their swimmers being clean, and I wouldn't be surprised to learn they experimented on people to figure out the best way to juice a swimmer just to get on the world stage.
Also, can someone name one swimmer that was stripped of their medal for failing doping tests after the Olympics? I know there have been some marred by failed tests, but they never lost their medals or their record times.
We all know the Chinese are doping. They had 23 swimmers busted earlier this year.
But the thing is, why should I also not suspect someone like Ledecky is doping? Or Marchand? Or Phelps?
The amount of money and prestige on the line especially in sports that don't pay much outside of being the best leads me to have little faith in honesty and integrity with their athletes.

I'm not going to say he was doping even though the margin of victory and history of the Chinese team put a shadow of doubt for sure...
That said, the insane amount of Chinese bots/people with 0 followers commenting on Instagram bashing the US and saying they weren't doping is kinda nuts.

How would someone even remember the username/password of an alter they created 8 years ago. Or even that they had that alter at all? I can't even remember passwords I had to change yesterday.

We know the Chinese swimmers are doping. They’ve been caught doing it and they are still doing it.
The Olympics are incredibly corrupt. The IOC legit threatened to take away the winter games from SLC if the U.S. doesn’t stop investigating Chinese doping.

Runners do all of the time. Bolt had to give back a relay gold bc one of his teammates got caught.
