Of course, the socialist regime is being toppled because of capitalism failing. Nytimes, don't ever change, makes it easy to ignore.

The ironic thing is they say the small state connected elite controlling all the wealth and power is capitalism, but it's literally the end story of every human experiment with socialism since the beginning. There's no system that concentrates as much power at the top quicker than socialism.

This is not capitalism. It's collectivism in its purest form.

The problem is that communism doesn’t work, nor does socialism with crony capitalism.
People need to see their hard work pay off.

A government big enough to give you everything is big enough to take everything away.

You know why communists eventually turn to capitalism?

Because it actually works.

"For a time it did" - Yeah socialism sounds awesome when there's plenty of wealth to spread around like when Venezuela was one of the richest countries in SA when socialism first started there. But like they say, the problem with socialism is you eventually run out of other people's money.

Socialism just wasn’t done correctly. Where have we heard this before?

Yea that’s the problem with Venezuela.

Too much capitalism, not enough socialism.

Capitalism needs a true free market to be efficient. When you put government controls on it it’s no longer Capitalism and turns into shite. US does this in some cases but not as much as Venezuela. Leave these progressives in with more government control of the “free markets” and you get Venezuela.

It’s almost as if people don’t want socialism

It works long enough for people to sign over their freedom. Then the corrupt few take everything for themselves

“Small state-connected minority”: these idiots just stumbled upon the actual definition of fascism, and it flew right over their smooth-brain-containing heads.

“Brutal capitalism”?

We counting the nationalization of various oil industry property and, IIRC, holding corporate employees hostage until the companies agreed to work the new state properties?

Breaking up the media corporations like we did with Ma Bell needs to be a priority. We basically have a few entities controlling all media that have become a propaganda machine.

People at top enjoy capitalism, while the other 95% enjoy 3rd world poverty in communist or socialist societies. The elite in any system get their hands on the money and resources. It’s works that way every time. At least here you got a chance.
