Does Uber Eats ruin a restaurant’s ambiance?

People’s laziness seems to be at an all time high and I feel like diners are suffering. Now every time I got to a restaurant I notice 2 or 3 undesirables standing at the bar area talking on speaker phone loudly and dressed in sweat pants & tshirt. Without fail these people are Uber Eats “employees”. They often park right in front of the restaurant with their hazards on regardless of wether or not it’s a legal spot.. it’s very frustrating and cheapens the whole experience.

I would venture to guess that most restaurants with decent "ambiance" aren't participating the uber eats program

They’re actually not “employees”.
They’re contractors.
And yeah. As a former driver, I rarely went into nice restaurants because I felt so out of place. Not to mention you’re last priority and I was trying to make money, not stand around.
If a restaurant participates in the delivery apps, there should be a designated spot away from everyone where drivers pick up. That’s the way the best places did it. Worked for everyone.

It sucks the food is so bad and your company is so shitty that you worry about what some momos are up to. I am too busy having a good time to worry about small shite. Try to enjoy life more.

Ive never had an Uber Eats employee sit at my table or stand in our space. Most places have a to-go area for customers driving to the place anyways so I personally don’t see how its much different.

It doesn't bother me, but FWIW I see it all the time.
These aren't fine dining restaurants, but small, local places where you might spend 75 bucks for two pretty easily, sure. Around here we have plenty of them, they've usually been around a while and are often in small footprints in shopping centers, etc.
But I know what I'm getting with those places so even while solid, I'm not expecting serious ambiance that is going to be messed up by someone picking up a to go order.

yep. its RAMPANT.
they park in the handicapped spots (b/c who gives a shite they're out before anyone can ticket them) and its a constant blur of paper bags going back & forth to the little pick up area right next to the front register.
and to the peon who said 'eat at better restaurants' that has nothing to do with it. restaurants will have to adjust to re-configure their spaces to put the 'uber' section in the back with its own entrance.
not every restaurant can afford to do that or have the ability to change their space in that manner.

Uber eats is a good example how the younger generation is entitled to blow through money then complain about things they think they should have but don’t.
Growing up, we went out to eat maybe a handful of times a year as a treat or celebration.

Your post makes it seem like the Uber Eats employees, who are trying to scrape out a living, are the problem.
If you have an issue with this, take it up with:
1. The restaurant that takes Uber Eats.

First off, never seen them in a handicap space. Maybe in an illegal spot, because they're only there for a couple minutes, but never a handicap space.
I mean, this is their job? Again, it's not on the delivery people, it's on the restaurant and the folks ordering. I remember talking to an Uber Eats driver who was as shocked as I was about some of the orders he was receiving, but he wasn't complaining, just surprised.

they are blowing thru credit card debt spending $100 on a meal that would have cost $45 if they just had gone to the restaurant. Paying the driver and tip etc. So they could get their food cold 2 hours later. Can't leave the house because that would take up their tik tok time.

We have Doordash and Ubereats drivers eating other food they’re delivering and leaving the trash in the parking spots they were in. Real high class living
