Louisiana Drivers

What is it exactly, Just finished a 4 week 4600 mile trip out west. Back 4 days. Then drove to Kentucky on a work trip. Encountered all sorts of weather. In all that not one wreck induced traffic jam. Bit of a slow down traveling north thru Denver in the morning hours, got lucky in Nashville.
I get to 12 E. at I 55. Didn’t get off the bridge hardly, traffic stopped. 25 min later started moving. 4 miles of 25 mph, a complete stop for 20 minutes. Blue lights ahead. E vehicles passing on the right shoulder. 1 hour to get from I 55 to Robert exit. I finally make it. A wreck at the gas station on 445, That gets cleared.
I finally get home. My wife is looking at G maps and there is a 1:10 delay on
I 12 between Robert and 1077 exit.
What’s wrong with you people.
SLOW THE “F” DOWN ! It’s really no wonder to me Louisiana has the highest car insurance rates in the nation. We deserve it.
Yes, I’m a Louisiana Native

Drinking and driving is practically legal in Louisiana so that explains some of the issue.

My Father worked in Branson for a number of years. Back then the strip was insane traffic wise during the day. He said that almost everyday on his way to work there would be at least one accident, and over 50% of the time it involved someone from Louisiana.
Worst drivers in the country.

I would partially blame the high insurance rates because of personal injury lawyers.

Based on this board it is basically celebrated.
Also low education rates = bad drivers

You sent out my Bat Signal...
They are indeed the worst. I've traveled extensively by car, truck, and RV all over the country ( except the NE) and it isn't even close.
Poorly educated, aggressive, lack of common courtesy, and crappy cars and trucks that are well behind on maintenence...
Cops aren't any better, running their take-home cars at 80 on the Causeway because they can...
But by God, we've got tint laws and "brake tags"

Three subgroups are responsible;
1. White women driving SUVs in the left lane speeding and tailgating because everyone else is "in her way".
2. Altima drivers who somehow think that they can drive like a NASCAR driver just because they watched it on TV
3. Lifted 4x4 with loud exhaust drivers with the tires wider than the wheel housing. I don't understand why this group is so angry.
Eliminate those 3 and you have fixed 80% of our traffic problems.

You forgot #4.
People from Texas who clog up the left lane at 70 mph refusing to move to the right lane.

One Huge issue is bad driver will hit the brakes when going up a bridge or incline and around a curve. This causes a chain effect of people showing down. I see it every day.
. If you hit your brakes to slow down 5-10mph on interstate your a shite driver.

And don't forget to hit your brakes, and turn and look while you're on the on-ramp to enter the Interstate...
Morons.
Morons.

People doing 72 in the fast lanes cause the accidents.

This. So many frivolous lawsuits in LA.
And uninsured, under insured motorists.

The courteous Texas driver I grew up around visiting my grandparents 40 yrs ago is dead. They use to pull on shoulder to let you pass. Sadly the blue folk moving have are killing TX. Same thing happened to Louisiana in the 50s and 60s when yankees moved in to work the oilfield and used our state as garbage can, ruined it.

My job requires me to travel about 75% of the time. I drive 90% of that time. I have counted in one day in Dallas there were 13 accidents. Houston has a wreck on every major road way in that city everyday. Drivers are very bad in every state. Not just Louisiana. I get off the interstate as much as possible to drive the back roads.

Oh. That grinds my gears.
Then I'll build my boost to quickly pass them and they'll change lanes right with me and force me to pass on the right.
And then it's always Altimas that do this. Do they have bad blind spots?

But there has to be an accident to be a lawsuit.
And our accident rates are high

Worst part of a cross country drive for me is Tennessee traffic. Nashville, Knoxville, and Chattanooga were all a pain.
