Acme Oyster went to crap IMO
Chimes State St is getting sloppy

I used to eat a the above several time a year. Acme I haven’t been to in a year and The Chimes has issues with service and food quality these days.

Chimes coursey - They built a great bar. Apps were good, liquor/beer options good, and prices reasonable.
Many factors along the way have contributed to me no longer frequenting.

Walk-ons campus - They did a roller coaster as far as food is concerned over the years. Food went from sub par to decent and then back to sub par and not a decent value anymore imo. I will still pop in during baseball season but don’t typically eat.

Mansurs - This one is not intentional. I just don’t make it there as much as I would like. And I would like to.

Superior - Food product received vs total $ spent. Last few times I’ve gone with a table of 4 adults and the bill hovers around $300. Value isn’t there for me anymore.

Thai kitchen - another I wish I remembered to frequent, but seem to forget about.

Sammy’s - It became inconsistent for me a few years back and I wrote it off. Never put it back in the rotation.

Ichiban - can’t be in the same area as sushi Yama and choose Ichiban over Yama

I went to Jed's Locals recently, and it was absolutely disgusting.

Chimes acoursey- Covid essentially killed it for me as they went a bit nuts with the way they acted.

Olive or Twist- it's so loud and the last time I went the service was so bad that I ended up leaving before I could order. Not to mention it was hot inside for some odd reason which made the experience worse.

Overpass Merchant- no real reason outside of I don't go that far out anymore and so many other restaurants have taken it's place in my rotation

Red Zeppelin - same reason as Overpass, I tend to go to other places instead now

it’s still fine for lunch…after dark is a no fly zone.

hunan’s is the place I used to go most often but never do anymore. Is it even still open?

Yep. The crowd changes at night, especially on the weekends.

Thai Pepper (just isn't the same without the buffet)
Swagat (same reason as Thai Pepper)
Juban's (most overrated restaurant in BR)
Sammy's (2nd most overrated)
Dang's (closer options available)
Umami (just doesn't feel the same as it once was)
Soji (went downhill)
Zorba's (wouldn't accept 225Eats coupon, turned me off)
Tony's (food is almost TOO seasoned)
Elsie's (multiple lackluster meals)
Superior (straight meh)

Is it as good as it was 20-25 years ago when it was off Bluebonnet where LA Lagniappe is?

Is Piccadilly still open? If so, that one. Was in BR about six months ago and went to Jubans. Haven’t been there in 20+ years. Still enjoyed it.

Not sure I’ve ever had or heard of their food being TOO seasoned. I’ve had the exact opposite the few times I’ve gotten anything there

The food is still very good (well, as of 3-4 years ago when I last went); however, I had purchased a 225Eats coupon and they refused to honor it, despite me following all the terms and conditions of the coupon. Dino said there was a mistake in the listing and they were no longer honoring it. Rubbed me the wrong way and I haven't been back since.

Specifically the fried catfish. Tastes like a straight salt bomb

Better. They've leaned more into being Greek instead of just being "Greek & Lebanese".

If it makes you feel any better, Dino retired a couple of years ago, as did the chef. New manager and new chef now, though both had previously worked there and are family members.

You’re the 4th person I’ve seen say this since the reopen. Dang.

Back when I first moved here in 89 and throughout the 90s it was legit... then it began a slow downward decline.
