Garand Thumb has a video out every sunday and he always has Charlie speaking about the sponsors.

I'm gonna miss his SDI acronym jokes.

He said YouTube policy no longer allows sponsorships from firearms or firearms accessories.

They can still post videos with sponsorship from other categories, but I suspect most of their current sponsors fall in the now banned categories. They'll either have to start pitching to other kinds of sponsors (camping and outdoor gear, grilling and BBQ, etc. are good fits) or find a new home.

It may be a good opportunity for a competing video site, but I'm not aware of anything now out there that would come close to driving the level of traffic found on YouTube. Pretty sad for the gun tubers and us viewers.

Youtube once again shooting itself in the dick.

I don't necessarily blame Youtube, but Google is bending the knee to it's big mega sponsors and donors. All of these guys are in it for the money and the beat way to mak'em bend the knee is to hit them where it hurts. in the money.

Sad state of affairs that big corporations can shite on the US constitution and not be held accountable but anyone on any side.

Trust in the free market brother. You Tube can do their thing but someone will fill the void and it will be fast.

Amazing how YouTube will ban firearms sponsors and remove videos from a creator like him who makes pretty wholesome content, but do nothing about the weird shite on their platform like the adults playing with kids toys videos.

There are other competitors. Just not viewers. In the meantime they'll have to find new jobs and use ALL their free time making content. They will be slaving away to keep that brand going, i assure you.

The only viable alternative to YT that could be formed is a Twitter video service. You already have so many built I users, any of whom upload content there anyway, that it would be a natural transition for most viewers.

Rumble and any other platform simply don't have enough eyeballs.

That's what I thought. Move over to an X-based video service.

XV? X2? XL?

Musk could eventually use that as his streaming platform for other video content, movies, TV shows, etc.

Angry Cops and Brandon Herrera have been plugging some gun tube thing that a few of them (I remember he mentioned Donut Operator) are putting together. Can't remember the name of it.

I think it is Pepperbox TV. It is a paid subscription service and not really a lot there at the moment.

Rumble has some, but again, not close to the YT volume.
