Slim pickings, but I think I would try to add Precious Achiuwa now and use him (1) as a PF backup to Zion in a bigger inside lineup option (if Griff can make a trade for a quality starting center), and (2) he is also probably one our best additional depth options at the 5 in the open market right now (if no trade is available).

- B. Biyombo
- Tristan Thompson
- P. Achiuwa
- Charles Bassey
- J. McGee
- Damian Jones
- U. Azibuki

Precious Achiuwa would be great but no way Knicks let him leave after Brunson took a paycut.

Only legit option would be Tristan Thompson. He wasn’t bad coming off the bench for the Cavs and showed he can still defend the paint l, rebound, and even guard the perimeter at an adequate level.

Sign Thompson, sign Karlo to a 2 way, and resigning Ingram to a short extension might be how we finish the offseason. Maybe something like 2 year 75 million for BI and try to trade him again next offseason.

Bassey or Damian Jones wouldn’t be bad low risk pick ups. Both decent rebounders, can shoot a lil bit

I'd rather have Biyombo or McGee, over Thompson.

Charles Bassey

Just woke up from a nap and read this as Charles Barkley. If we bring in someone from the TNT panel, it should definitely be Shaq Diesel

Chimezie Metu played well for the Pistons last in low minutes.

Wow… these names… Geez.

Poku, Mamu, or Precious. That’s the only quality/potential left in that list.

If we weren't so damn jammed up with the BI trade, we could have signed Goga to 3/$30M to serve as a defensive oriented 5 that can eat minutes for the next several seasons while Yves matures.

But because we cannot move off BI, we were too scared to use the MLE.

I disagree. Wtf is he going to do for us? We still need a "starting" center.

I highly doubt we add any of these guys. To give what 5min along with Missi/ Thies/ Matkovic? Just let the other minimum guy play 10min instead of (2) playing 5 if its a shitty option anyway.

I'd rather let our best shite center get more minutes than give all of our shite centers equal minutes.

Our next move will either be to get a starting center or roll with what we have.

Precious at #5 or Bertans at #4 are the only 2 free agents that make any sense at all.

I think Biyombo signed with OKC. I don’t mind grabbing Yursteven

Well unfortunately it seems we’re going to have to parse out minutes with our shite centers. Especially given that they each have different strengths and collective youth.

Hopefully one of JRE, Karlo or Missi can improve and start dominating minutes, but until then we will have to try them all. We won’t really know what we have with anyone but Theis until the meat of the regular season

With Sandro Mamukelashvili returning to San Antonio, there is officially just one free agent center still available that appeared in more than 40 games last season: Precious Achiuwa - end of list -

I hope we make the move for Kessler. Kessler/ Matkovic is a strong pair with different skill sets that fit perfect along with Theis as backup.

One of these is not like the other.

The best available players five weeks into free agency:

Isaac Okoro
Markelle Fultz
Lonnie Walker
Cedi Osman
Talen Horton-Tucker
Dennis Smith Jr.
Oshae Brissett
Doug McDermott
Jae Crowder
Marcus Morris
Robert Covington
Davis Bertans

For the minimum, a lot of names who could still contribute on rosters.

Achiuwa, Diabate, Bassey, Metu, Mamukelashvili, Potter, Huff, and Robinson aren't available anymore. Just makes what's left worse lol
