Seasoned three racks of ribs and threw them on the pit. Got them cooked, sliced up the first one and started filling my pan up. Cooked a couple different kinds of sausage, made some baked beans with pulled pork mixed in, Mac & cheese, potato salad and garlic bread. Had a pretty good bite with a clean bone underneath. Got my crew fed. Fed my bartender, too. :)

Still grilling with the same pit my Dad made 30 years. Sent it with me to LSU in 2001. Tailgated with it all over the SEC for football and baseball. Its last road trip was to Robinson Island in OB. Now it’s just the home grill to use for easy cleanup.

we had big plans to fire up the pit and gorge on meat but it rained most of the afternoon after chores and nap time was inevitable

plan B was chicken thighs in the oven, mixed squash sauté with bacon, cucumber/tomato/nectarine salad and toasted bread with pepper jelly

honestly I’m not sure how plan A could have been better. Happy 4th everyone

When you say you fed your bartender are you going to the bar that night for a few drinks and tossing him/her the box?

Usually cook a family meal on Sundays and bring my bartender, at my little local hangout, something to eat. Mostly college students that don’t always get home cooking. Works the same for holidays. :)

Probably the most asked question on the F&D Board. I know I’ve asked it myself. Bayou Too, the man of mystery.

Reminds me of my old neighbor. Goes to a little bar a few days a week and drinks 2 or 3 beer with his buddies and comes back home. Every Saturday he takes a huge spread up there for everyone to eat
