Would be pretty cool to take this series and then trade for Chris Bassett IMHO

I’ll be a good bit behind on today’s game. Prob get home about 4 or a bit later. I’ll be dodging the DAT and X and ESPN until I catch up. Game will likely be over by then though.

Looking forward to catching the rest of them in real time on a four day holiday weekend :-)

All aboard but Crane may be skittish of trading for a soon to be 36 year old who's owed 22 million next year.

Was literally just about to look up his contract details

Yea that's good chunk of money for next year even if you are banking on JV not hitting his inning limits for next years contract

That's a discussion to be had. He has to pitch 140 innings foe the option to vest. If he comes back after the all start break and makes his full slate of starts every 5 days, at an average of 6 innings that would put him at 137 innings.

The Mets are on the hook for half his salary if it vests. So is a 42 year old JV worth $17.5 million to us? If it vests, it's also 17.5 million that the Mets don't have to take someone else off the market.

It would be pretty shocking if he hits 140 innings at this point

There should be several good mid rotation type starters available for the Astros. I’m not sure if the Mets will be selling now but I’ve always been intrigued by Severino’s potential. Kikuchi on Toronto is another but would probably be more expensive trade wise

Hopefully getting JV and Garcia back sooner than later will take some of the stress off of this staff. I’m not crazy about any of the SP options mentioned so far, but that’s just me.

Was kinda hoping they would take a flyer on Erick Fedde and Cal Quantrill in the offseason for depth purposes.

Both of those guys are having solid years and would be really nice/cheap 4th in the rotation and eat innings options.

Interesting strategy by Espada to get above .500 and immediately put together the worst lineup of the season.

Bregman 3B
Meyers CF
Yordan DH
Diaz C
Singleton 1B
Peña SS
Dubon 2B
Cabbage RF
Chas LF

Is there a reason Altuve is sitting?

Lady, Altuve will miss some time due to toe discomfort after fouling ball off of his foot yesterday. They consider it nothing of concern and are comparing it to the Tucker situation:-)

LMAO

He’s a whisperer of sorts

A lot of our problems stem from morale as it relates to the motivation necessary to prepare

Leadership is necessary. Hoping that reaching .500 with that division carrot in sight leads to some focus
