Saw their show at HellFest last night on YouTube. They’ve streamed the whole event. I know they were pretty popular in the 80’s and 90’s. What day you?

The first record was okay... when they went more metal on subsequent records, I didn't like it... some of them were fricking embarrassingly bad..

They're no Infectious Grooves.

legendary band both sound wise and culturally for bringing the metalheads and punks together

This dude couldn't buy a clue if he won the lottery.

ST are one of the best ever. Their last album was on point.

Not sure if Mike ever really was on drugs, but his mom sure as hell thought he was on drugs.

I swore by them as a kid.

I still enjoy them here and there, but Mike looks pretty stupid live now. It’s also a weird name for a group that’s all about positivity now.

Agreed. TFTC usually aligns with me musically, but he's wrong on this one. Every single one of their records through The Art of Rebellion were killer. Still Cyco was when they started to drop off, but even then it was enjoyable enough. They evolved their sound in an organic way through those first 6-7 albums, and they did so while remaining incredibly interesting. ST was one of my favorite bands growing up, and I still listen to them today.

As others have pointed out though, Infectious Grooves were amazing. They made Chili Peppers funk stuff sound like pop jams.

They went away from the hardcore sound of the first record.. in a direction I just couldn't stand... Join the Army was awful!

Same as the Cromags, SSD, etc... first records were legendary hardcore records... the rest was garbage IMO..

Saw them open for Metallica and then Megadeth Rust in Peace tour. Saw Infectious Grooves in small club as main act. All great.

OK, Possessed to skate is a little cringe but I think ST took it from hardcore to something nobody else did. This is when they added Rocky George and leaned more on metal and thrash. It was a totally different direction than the first.

'83-'93 ST is great IMO.

Can't deny this though.

And that is the primary basis of my opinion back to the OP... Im not really into that at all... I don't really care if other people like it, more power to them!
