Seeing Trae with Zion or Wemby would be fun to watch.

So no defense except Herb. Not winning anything that way.

We just had the 6th best defense in the NBA with Herb being the only plus defender in our starting 5.

Offense wins in the NBA.

Zion made a huge leap on Def last year. Capela might also be part of a Trae deal. Also, I doubt we’d be parting with more than 1 of Herb, Jose, Dyson in the deal. So we’d still have solid core D pieces. Plus we could move CJ in a different trade.

Don’t want. This obsession with short players is baffling, but to each their own.

this... the Warriors dynasty flipped the NBA on its head and made offensive prowess much more valuable than defensive

I'm really hoping for a BI (+picks if necessary) for Murray and Capela...

Like Kyrie Irving, Jalen Brunson, Tyrese Maxey, Mike Conley, Ja Morant and on and on etc. aka, like all the teams we are trying to beat?

It would make bringing in a defensive center the next priority.

It’s crazy how everyone keeps saying Trae is a terrible defender when a lot of hawk fans said he wasnt even their worst defender. Also, imagine Trae tiring out his defender compare to the guys we have. They will need to send help to him which leads him to find the open guy. Most importantly, he shows up during the playoffs. Especially during the conference finals.

Their D was a lot better with him off the court. A lot.

Would show in this W/L of ATL. What have they done in the shitty East since that magical run a few years ago?

What have the Hawks done the past 3 years?

They had an outlier, magical run in 21. What about 22, 23, and 24?

Because Trae and Dejounte doesn’t mesh well together. That’s why they are trading one or the other. You got to find what fits on your team. I think Trae will fit here with us desperately needing a floor general. I be happy with Dejounte too.

I’ll be honest I was originally on the Murray train, but I’m really coming around to the idea of Trae. If his defense really has proved to be remotely decent, he will absolutely elevate this offense and Zion to a level needed to win big games in the nba. I’m fine with BI and whatever fits in a trade for him. This will get Trey to take his starting spot and then figure out CJ, because I don’t know that he can start alongside Trae.

If we make a trade for Trae we’ll never make a run for a championship. But the kids will love playing with the Pels on 2k so there’s that.

In what way does giving a 6’2 point guard that needs the ball in his hands $40+ million a year, translate to winning basketball games?

Also that gives you 2 players that are undersized and are injury prone in your starting lineup.

We aren't winning anything RIGHT NOW.

We've been mediocre every year since griff has been here and people are so averse to getting some god damn good players here
