I know he is only a sophomore, but he was an extremely high recruit coming out of hs. Obviously he was behind some of the best WR ever at LSU last year, but even in spring it seems like he won’t be involved again this year. Portal soon?

The only thing we know is that he was given some chances late in games last year and dropped the balls thrown to him and that in practice it seems like he is behind a bunch of upper classmen and possibly Kyle Parker.

Hopefully he is a BTJ type that is quiet his first 2 years and then grows into his potential.

He was a true freshman last year behind two first round pick WRs. Not exactly sure how you couldn’t answer your own question

The jump from high school to the SEC is massive. He's been the most talented player on the field his whole life. Now, he's polishing his game against elite competition while also needing to get stronger in the weight room to get off press coverage. He'll be fine. Everyone's timeline is not the same no matter how highly you're ranked in high school.

Kyle Parker is the best young WR on this team. 2025 will be his breakout year. Sampson just needs to focus on catching the ball at the very least in mop-up duty this year

Freshman WRs saw zero snaps on offense after the Grambling game. So it's not just Sampson, it was just a stacked WR room.

(Not sure about the bowl game)

Out of high school Shelton and Malik were ranked very similarly by the recruiting services. When Malik hit the field as a true freshman you knew he was that dude. As of yet Shelton is not close to that level. IMO Shelton need more weight and strength. If Shelton gains a little more weight and strength his ceiling is about has high as Terrace Marshall.

I think he’ll have a Malik Nabers 2022 type year this season. 2026 he’ll be primed to be the next LSU first rounder.

Ranked higher than he should have in his school for multiple reasons -school, size, “chs combine 4.3 forty “ as a freshman . Long legged glider who needs to work on his hands and quickness

You think he’s going to have a 1,000 yard receiving season?

I’ll just take a solid progression with flashes of special ability, ala Brian Thomas his sophomore year

Very overrated coming out of high school.
