Impressive turnaround in process, and the Fever are only getting hotter - winning 4 of their last 7 contests

There are only 12 teams in the league?

And 8 are .500 or worse?

Being a game over .500, in your timeframe, means teams are heating up?

All 12 teams lose money every season. The WNBA is a tax write off for the NBA.

Stop being a pessimist, 7 are .500 or better. 1/3rd of the teams above .500, 25% of teams at .500, and 29% of teams below .500 sounds pretty par for the course.

I have more questions about the fact there are only 12 teams, yet 8 make the playoffs. 2/3rd? of the league making the playoffs? Can you imagine a 20+ teams in the NFL, MLB, NHL or NBA making the playoffs?

"When a woman tells you her friend is hilarious, this is the kind of humor she's referring to."

Most apt description possible for that gif

The old joke in the NBA was, "Teams play 80+ games just to eliminate Cleveland". The Association has always been pretty much of a joke as far as them handing out playoff slots.

Are you saying this is something that rarely happens in pro sports?

WNBA 1/3 through the season
42% below .500

NBA at the 1/3 mark
40% below .500

MLB is a little over 1/3 through
60% teams below .500

NFL 1/3 through
44% teams below .500

I figured I’d get some pushback on this, as I didn’t do much research on how other leagues shake out.

I did quickly look at the Western Conference standings and saw 10 of the 15 teams were above .500, 1 was at .500(Houston 41-41) and the other 4 were below.

The early WNBA standings probably aren’t all that wild but it does seem like in a league that small, we’re looking at a ridiculously out of balance league.

In bigger leagues it’s about the same or greater.

from what little i've watched, it seemed obvious that CC would "get it together" pretty quickly.
