This has gold written all over it and seems difficult to frick up or make it Woke. Just remake movies almost verbatim from the past, just replace most of the cast with Muppets, get members of the original films to reprise their roles if possible (and get a celebrity look alike if you can’t especially since many are dead or too old), and add in some Muppet puns and musical numbers. Plus it will introduce a new generation to classic movies and make them go back and watch those.

Maybe have the online backstory that Kermit is looking to move onto more serious cinema and actually win the Oscars, but his crew still manages to make the movies as ridiculous as possible.

Here are some of my suggestions (and some will be deceased so go with the closest thing):

Titanic: Keep Billy Zane and Kathy Bates
The Patriot: Keep Jason Issacs and Tom Wilkinson
The Shawshank Redemption: Keep Morgan Freeman and Clancy Brown
Saving Private Ryan: Keep Tom Hanks
Apocalypse Now: Keep Marlon Brando
Full Metal Jacket: Keep R Lee Emery
Lawrence of Arabia: Keep Omar Sharif
One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest: Keep Louis Fletcher
Casablanca: Keep Humphrey Bogart
Jaws: Keep Robert Shaw

These movies would be absolutely hilarious starring Muppets and I think people would go to the theaters to see them.

How about reading the transcript of H. Biden's current problems starring Kermit and Miss Piggy?

That would also be hilarious, but I’d pick Fozzie Bear to read them out.

I'm now picturing Sam Eagle bellowing out "Hell, I like you. You can come over to my house and frick my sister." and then punching Kermit in the stomach.

It's certainly more entertaining than watching another DEI in a cape flick.

For the 8 of us that watched Furiosa, this is incredibly accurate.

There should not be a soul on this planet that hasn't watched at least The Muppet Movie.

Steve Martin's cameo still kills me.

"One of the finest wines of Idaho"

"Don't you want to smell the bottle cap"

The Patriot: Keep Jason Issacs and Tom Wilkinson
The Shawshank Redemption: Keep Morgan Freeman and Clancy Brown
Saving Private Ryan: Keep Tom Hanks
Apocalypse Now: Keep Marlon Brando

Lawrence of Arabia: Keep Omar Sharif
One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest: Keep Louis Fletcher
Casablanca: Keep Humphrey Bogart
Jaws: Keep Robert Shaw

I think it would be cool as well but I don't like those at all. Way too serious. Don't want to see Muppets at war killing people

They still need to be classics on the light hearted side, not turning the Muppets into something their not. Part of what makes the Muppets the Muppets is the light heartedness to it.

I'd like to add No Country For Old Men, keep Josh Brolin. Cookie monster would make an absolutely chilling Chigurh.

They’d go out of their way to do so. Watch.

A Muppet Remake of Casablanca would have Kermit in a torrid romance with Fozzie Bear, and the Nazis would all sound like Donald Trump.

A few more coming to mind:

Inglourious Basterds: Keep Christoph Waltz, Daniel Bruhl, Michael Fassbender, and the High Command
Pulp Fiction: Keep Samuel L Jackson and Ving Rhames
The Truman Show: Keep Jim Carrey and Ed Harris
Die Hard: Keep Bruce Willis
The Matrix: Keep Hugo Weaving and the Agents
The Big Lebowski: Keep John Goodman and Julianne Moore
Goodfellas: Keep Joe Pesci

I want My Cousin Vinny where all of the people from New Jersey are humans, but every other character is a muppet.

Hot Take: Muppets from Space is a solid movie that I will happily watch any time it’s on.

Hotter take: Muppets Christmas Carol is the best version of the Scrooge story.

Gladiator. Only the Emperors are human.

A Knight’s Tale, the only humans are the villain (Rufus Sewell) and Paul Bettany.

Con-Air with Nicholas Cage and his family as the only humans.

Star Wars prequels: Temura Morrison, Ewan McGregor, Ian McDiarmid, and Christopher Lee are humans.

Oceans 11. Benedict is the only human.

Knives Out: Chris Evans and Ana de Armas are the only humans.

Resurrecting this thread after having this same discussion with my co-workers this morning. Of course the list included:

Gladiator
Die Hard
The Shawshank Redemption
Goodwill Hunting

But some others that came up today...

The Blindside (imagine Quinton Aaron as Michael Oher blasting Muppets)
No Country for Old Men (Tommy Lee Jones with Muppets)
The Truman Show

but my favorites...

Rocky
Slingblade
