the mayor is on it, swift concert will be a test run

I want to assure the NFL," he continued, "that by the time we put this Super Bowl on, New Orleans will be one of the safest cities in the country."

How will city officials and state government accomplish that?

New Orleans mayor Latoya Cantrell says the Downtown Development District team has laid out "an expansive plan" to revitalize the downtown experience. The NOPD is moving into new headquarters across the street from the Ceasars Superdome.

so bussing them to a less visible location for the duration of the game.

got it.

The encampment situation has seen a good tick down in recent months. Much less of those and less homeless visibly.

They have been on it. As soon as the SB is over they will let them go again.

Also yeah the State Troopers and AGs office are getting heavily involved in the city. Its made a difference. I know someone involved and it is still very much in the early stages. They have a lot more advanced plans. We will see.

It takes a super bowl game to finally get off your arse and do something about crime?

Yes, typical stupid MFs. Downtown is a nightmare. One lane on a main thoroughfare has been closed for months. Nothing being done. Then the far lane is unusable often bc of illegal parking by buses and taxis in that lane. It’s shame they fix things for Super Bowl all at once and not for the tax payers who are left who use those roads daily on an ongoing basis. The GNO bridge is also messed up. I wish the superbowl would fail and the city not get what it’s rubbing its hands for.

Makes for a funny Before, During, and After image.

Oh, and let’s not even mention the useless NOPD. Empty cop cars on canal, shootings broad daylight. I counted (and smelled) 4 cars on Canal (the usual models) with paper plates, of course nopd doesn’t care. One didn’t even list the state. Just numbers. A Mexican or some other southern illegal.

Dont make it a safe place because people are dying, getting robbed, shot, etc. Make it safe to appease the NFL
