If we could, LSU would have won yesterday.

Because bunting is stupid, that was a lucky hit

I’ve said it for three years that Johnson doesn’t care about the fundamentals of baseball.
He would rather win with four solo home runs than score 5 runs because his players can put the ball in play. He said that we would see more bunting and hit and run, but we have not.

Because we recruit ball players not players who couldn’t make a travel ball team.

do you think Wofford would trade a few bunts for 21 hits?

Why can’t we run the option like Army?

It’s about what you practice with limited hours available.

I like the approach I saw from us today. I think Jay told the team just hit the ball, don't try to knock it out if the park in one swing. I have confidence in this team. All we needed was to get hot again. We're gonna win this regional and take it back to Baton Rouge, then beat whoever we play en route back to Omaha. This team has a shite ton of fight in it. We've got this shite.

One of my biggest gripes with our team… I pretty much just assume we’re going to botch it up whenever it’s an obvious bunting situation. It’s one thing to do it for base hits, but it’s as fundamental as it gets to lay down a SACRIFICE bunt. The mechanics I see used by our players leads me to believe it’s not practiced or coached… dropping the barrel of the bat.. poking at the ball instead of “catching” it. It’s mind boggling

Maybe 3-5 guys on this roster have the speed to bunt effectively. Look around our conference. Only one program really uses any small ball tactics.

Tell me what in this post is inaccurate? Does Johnson coach like a lot of MLB managers do now with only caring about HRs? Yep.
Does he hit and run? Steal? Bunt?
Really great teams can do all of that and hit HRs. That is called balance.
The fact that Paxton Kling cant drag bunt or bunt at all tells you everything you need to know. When you put pressure on the opposing team, you win more often than not. That is a fact.
