Watching Dallas go up 2-0 just reminds me of the inconsistency of the Pels..

The Pels finished one game behind the Mavs before the inconsistent COACHING led to two straight losses to the Lakers. We split the series with the Mavs during the regular season.
And when a TEAM so talented is so inconsistent rather than just individual players it is coaching. Bringing Ingram back as a started after his absence for the regular season finale was asinine when you look at how long Ingram has historically taken to get back into the flow of the game,. If we win that game then we do NOT PLAY the next where Zion got injured and perhaps we are where the Mavs are....We keep hiring meh coach after meh coach. I think Van Gundy was once a good coach but was damaged goods by the time the Pels hired him.

We dont have a Luka or a Kyrie, plain and simple.
Zion has to develop an outside shot.
No other Pelican can beat someone and score one on one.

Zion doesn’t need to develop an outside shot tho if our other star (whoever it may be) can shoot 3s. You just need one of them.

With how close teams are in the West it's all about match ups, the Mavs match up better against the Wolves than they would have against Denver.
Take us for example we match up great against the Kings but not the Lakers while the Kings match up well vs the Lakers.

I'm still shocked Minnesota best Denver.
I think whoever comes out the west is beating Boston

No one watching the Pels should think, even if healthy, we'd do anything other than be an easy out for the 4 West teams in the 2nd round. We would have had zero chance against any of those teams.
We aren't close right now. This is why our BI trade needs to net the best possible player back, not 2-3 more role players. We have solid role players, we need a #2 and a #3. Use BI and assets, then use CJ and assets and try to get the best 2 players possible. It's the only chance we have. Zion and role players ain't getting it done.

You would think thats common sense but I’m sure we’ll have people clamoring on this board “oh we’re not that far if we stayed healthy.”

You are what your record shows. Pels led their division, that included the Mavs, for a large chunk of the year. Mavs got better at the deadline, Pels sat on their hands.

So, Jason Kidd is a great coach now?

To be fair his coaching in the playoffs especially how hes rotated Gafford and
Lively have been excellent. Thats not just me many people have credited that Kidd has coached really well this postseason.

It's just a weird swap, since he's always been lambasted as a bad coach that wears out his welcome pretty quick..

There is no question, that as a player, Kidd has been recognized as one of the most high IQ ballers since his high school days. That does not always translate to coaching and he's still writing his story as a coach. I think a lot of folk confuse personality with product in evaluating Kidd. His personality was so toxic that a lot of teams wouldn't touch him. Dallas took a chance and although no Phil Jackson, he's proven to be better than Magic Johnson (High Basketball IQ) as a coach.

That timeout at the 3:30 minute mark to give Luka and Kyrie a breather was a smart move. Gave them around 6-8 minutes of rest for a 23 second defensive possession.

100%.
Jason Kidd has been fired, underachieved in the playoffs, just about everything you can do wrong as a coach. Does he suddenly know what he’s doing, or does he just have the right roster? There is plenty of stuff Willie does wrong, but there is also plenty of blame on the roster.

You’re completely dismissing he’s capable of learning from his mistakes and improving.
Maybe Willie can do the same but hes an extremely inexperienced coach. This is Kidd’s third head coaching gig- experience matters. Not really understanding how both are even comparable- Kidd is more experienced by a wide margin.

It was indeed. He saw they were gassed, gave them a manufactured breather that paid off with clutch shots. Sometimes Coach Green expects his guys to just ‘tough it out’ to the team’s detriment.

I can’t really disagree too much, Pels were eighth. However, difference in 4-10 was a matter of a few games and Pels blew more games than anyone in the West. You have to be astute with changes or whatever success you’ve had can blow up in your face, forcing a rebuild. If I was Griff, I’d be looking at options to get another 5-8 wins. Aint no superteams, but a lot of up and comers.

Dallas had a sub .500 season last year. You think Kidd improved enough to suddenly have a potential finals team in one year? It’s absolutely about the pieces, not the coach.
