WPVI reports that Roney Beal told its investigative team that she hit a jackpot worth more than $1.2 million while playing a Wheel of Fortune slot machine at Bally’s hotel-casino in February.
But the casino has refused to pay her.
According to reports, Bally’s and gaming company International Game Technology are disputing the alleged seven-figure prize, telling her that she had won due to a technical glitch.
Beal shared that everyone came around her to celebrate her big win before she hit the service button on the slot machine.
“That’s when the sentences came up ‘tilted,’” WPVI quoted Beal. “When the man came over to talk to me, he said, ‘Lady, get it in your head, you won nothing.’”
Beal shared that she was told the machine had a malfunction known as a reel tilt, which voided the win.
According to Beal, a Bally’s attendant opened the machine and asked her asked her to “spin it off,” but she refused.
Beal said the attendant then hit different buttons inside, ultimately offering her $350.
“They fooled with the machine before anybody else had the opportunity to take a look at this,” Beal’s attorney Mike Dicroce told WPVI.
He said that action by a casino attendant may have tampered with evidence of the win.

The mob was more honest than the gambling corporations.

Yeah it's time to sue. I would imagine there are several lawyers who would love to take the casino to court here.
If you win start recording everything if possible. They may have tampered with it after she won.

There seems to be no technical glitches when those machines are sucking up hundreds and hundreds of dollars.

The Wheel of Fortune slot machines are made by IGT. They are like the Kia of slot machines.
Some people may remember two men sued IGT and NOLA Harrah's maybe 20 years ago for the same issue and won over $1 million at trial because Harrah's and IGT couldn't prove to the jury that a malfunction occurred. This is rather rare though most people don't ever get paid for a "reel tilt".

Happened to my Dad and Uncle back in the 80's. Said it was a machine malfunction, I always messed with my Dad that he should have stood up to em....he told me they'd have put him and my uncle in a barrel in lake Mead. ??

If it were an Indian casino, they would have had to sue in tribal court. That happened to a person in Louisiana a few years ago. They tried to sue in federal court, but the feds said no jurisdiction. No wampum for you.
