I really like the new F-150 Lariats. The XLT’s look stupid but the Lariats look pretty good. But the price is fricking hilarious. Never going to take a risk with a Ford product that will last (at best) 5-6 years for that price.

My Toyota is a little smaller than I’d like but it works very well. It’s reliable. I will just wait for Toyota to figure out all the issues with the Tundra and buy one of them. Or maybe get a Sierra. Or an SUV like a Sequioa, Suburban, or Yukon.

bending over the consumers.

Consumers were bending over willingly 2 years ago. I went into Honda to get my daughter an Accord. They were charging $8k over MSRP and selling them before they even arrived. I walked out the door and the salesman didn’t even try to stop me.

Glad to see $16 off though. I have a 2016 Lariat (sticker $51 paid $41k). I’m not paying $72k for the same amenities that I have. I’ll just stick with my current truck before paying that.

Psst it's not the dealership bending you over it's the manufacturer. The reason they can sell them at $16k off is because Ford is reimbursing the $16k. The dealership is absolutely not making money on a rebate that deep without manufacturers help.

You didn't know this? They can cut more and still make money. How do people think they keep reporting record profits?

They aren't making record profits. That'd be reflected in Ford, Chevy, GMC income statements as they are public companies. Look at their stock. That paints a thousand words.

He gets it.

He is in a new vehicle that he will enjoy driving.

More power to him

Oh and he probably cares less what you think or drive

I sell auto parts and I am in shops all day long. This is a correct statement. So many brand new vehicles sitting waiting on parts that are on national backorder. Meanwhile that $1500.00 note keeps showing up at the owners address every month.

Most people quote sticker price and one can get a Sierra 2500 AT4 over $93k.

I’m not saying the price is off, I’m saying nobody was bragging for getting it for that amount to BabySmac.

There is a lot of markup in vehicles, sure, but it is also possible they’re taking a loss and cutting $16k to control inventory. Retailers of all types will take a bath on a some things if it’s for inventory purposes. Without knowing more this could be one of those times.

Traded in a 2020 KR and got a 2023 Tremor Friday. Was 10k off MSRP of 67k.

Double checking

You picked up a 2023 tremor for 57,000?

I’m questioning because the best dealer in the state has them at 77,000 with 10,000 off making sale price 67,000.

No sir, I picked up a 2023 Tremor for $53k…with less than 100 miles on it.

There are two levels of Tremor. 401A and 402A. You are thinking of the Lariat version. I got the XLT version.

Only reason I pulled the trigger is because I found 4 of the same truck with 20k miles and they were still $58-62k.

With the exception of the past few years (low inventory), dealerships typically do not make much $ on the new vehicle side. They make their money on the other profit departments. (Used, finance, service, parts, etc). Ford is releasing over 140K new F-150’s into the market. Dealerships do not want the glut of large inventory, otherwise they are stuck making interest payments on vehicles sitting. They are also more likely to not get their dealer holdback, certified blue oval, and manufacture incentive payments from Ford. This is a very good time to buy a F-150 in particular.

MSRP should not be used in negotiating the price of a vehicle. The only purpose a buyer should use it for, is calculating the dealer holdback. Dealer holdback should be money the purchaser can use to negotiate an even lower drive out price.
