What is the makeup of the freshman class? Are Louisiana males just not going to LSU? Or are they all dropping out?

..i just look at the 20 year old Electrician that i just hired...ZERO debt...paying him 90K...and i laugh at this chart.

Why are you paying a 20 year old 90k? How is he a licensed electrician at such a young age? Does your state not require a certain number of hours on the job as an apprentice prior to going out on your own?

A long-running hobby on this site is to literally make up shite as it pertains to trades.

Why is this incredible?

The male tradesmen still make more than college educated women and alot of college educated men. There are over 9 billion people on Earth; a random chart wont explain anything.

This specific thread is about college degree distribution, so that's not the topic at hand.

Women from Harvard on the Bayou aren't exactly marrying guys from the real Harvard, baw.

Not really sure what you are trying to say here. I think the majority of teachers that I know are married to policemen, tradesmen, etc. These aren't exceptions.

A girl from a rich family who didn't graduate is much more likely to marry a rich guy than a college graduate from a poor family with some shitty degree.

The stats in the OP don't really have anything to do with that. They are also littered with blacks, hispanics, foreign students etc., where this is not as big of a deal.

Some chick who graduated at Southern and now works at the DMV isn't expecting some high level male.

rule of thumb when it comes to the trades and discussing them on the OT

is remember this

i dunno if its lack of education or understanding on this board, but the arrogance to continue to ignore what the median makes in the trades has become laughable. hell someone making more than 90% of others in the trades is lucky to make what someone with a chemical engineer makes in his first job out of school

It certainly sounds made up. 20 year old electrical apprentice. I’m guessing pays 45k or a little more a year.

depends on the degree. getting an engineering degree from any accredited university will absolutely lead to a high paying job. plenty of nurses and other jobs that pay well that come from smaller state schools like that.

Agreed. But many of the posts on this thread are implying that just getting a degree - any degree - automatically vaults you up the social ladder, which is completely false.

The average English major, out earns the average plumber. Now many English majors end up employed in jobs outside their field of expertise. This might be shocking to some, but those are the facts. This is true of communications majors, crim justice majors, perhaps even sociology majors. And all 4 of those have reputations as being useless.

I agree with you, but that has nothing to do with my post.
