England didn't have elections during either world war.
They had a wartime coalition government during both world wars that included the opposition, and it was before the fixed term parliament act (which has been repealed anyway).
They also did hold an election in 1945 just before Japan surrendered when the war coalition fell apart.

Well that is changing the narrative a bit.
So we didn't interfere in Ukraine in 2014 now?

Ukraine won't hold an election until martial law is rescinded.

FDR did basically the same thing taking a third term in middle of ww11

All that... and it's now basically considered illegal to criticize zelensky. How can anyone run against him when the mere act of campaigning against him....can land someone in prison?

FIFY. There is that pesky caveat that he was reelected.

Funny how Russia can somehow run elections just fine but Ukraine is using this as an excuse to install a dictator. Commie fricks.

The inability to actually hold an election doesn't play at all with you?
If Ukraine tried to hold an election with more than a third of its citizenry unable to participate, you would be right here claiming that it was a sham election and illegitimate.

US intelligence says Russia has stepped up disinformation campaign against Zelenskyy
As for the presidential election, the Russians are trying to promote the notion that Zelenskyy is illegitimate.
US intelligence agencies believe that Russian intelligence services are behind the latest campaign and that disinformation is being spread through state media, fake websites, and social media.

Their domestic situations are exactly the same, so I can certainly see your point.

Kind of like we did during the civil war

So if Zelensky was reelected via a vote of pretty much only the pro-western portions of Ukraine participating in the election, as he almost assuredly would be, you wouldn't be on here claiming that it was a fixed sham?

So in your theory Ukraine can’t have elections until they get all their land back which now everyone including Ukraine admits is unlikely to happen so Ukraine will never have elections again making Zelensky a……. Dictator

I never said all of their land, because that isn't going to happen. Large parts of Donestk and Luhansk didn't participate in the 2019 election.
They won't hold them until martial law is lifted and there is stability in the amount of territory that Ukraine actually controls. Trying to hold an election right now is impossible from a logistical and practical standpoint---something tells me that you have enough common sense to know that.

Yeah, most countries actively at war on their own turf usually don't hold elections. If we were invaded by a foreign power or at Civil War our elections would be suspended as well.
You shouldn’t make statements with an authoritative tone when you have no clue what you’re talking about. This is the sign of a fool: “A fool takes no pleasure in understanding, but only in expressing his opinion.”
