it true that Hondas burn more oil than other cars
Not my personal experience with the 4 cylinder Earth Dreams engine. That thing was awesome. Though, it did take 4.5 quarts, and not 5, and needed super thin 0w20. Made the mistake of putting in a full 5 once, and had to drain a little.

with everything now run by the computer, a tune up is simply done by replacing the spark plugs and plug wires
I haven’t owned a vehicle that had spark plug wires in 20+ years. All had/have coil packs.

A friend had spark plugs replaced in his 2015 Chevy Silverado. He paid $400 for plugs and labor. I’d have done it for BBQ and a couple of beers.
He did not go to the stealer but to a an established neighborhood mechanic shop.

I would change all the fluids. Flush the coolant system, flush the brakes, power steering fluid, drain and fill the transmission. I think it's relatively cheap insurance.
I've made a habit at taking out about a quart of transmission fluid and putting back in a fresh quart at every oil change. Don't know if it's doing much but I don't see how it can hurt.

Yeah don't listen to this. That is stupid 7.5K- 10K is fine.
NO, that's how you get sludge in your engine. Change it every 5k minimum. 3k is better though. Engines also burn oil and it is normal, so changing it regularly will make sure that you are keeping enough oil in the engine rather than forgetting to check it often.

I have found that the owners manual suggest doing too much stuff and at too frequent intervals.
sounds like you've got it figured out then. just go with your gut. i'm sure it will be fine.

Kind of why I'm asking about it on here. Just getting some opinions. And yes, I will mainly take into account what the mechanic tells me when making my decision.

It sounds like he's talking full synthetic and you're talking conventional

10k is fine for synthetic or semi. My Tacoma is at 120k and I change every 10k. It’s in pristine condition. The shop guys are always amazed at how clean the oil is when I get it changed

You are just wasting money ,but do you I guess.

A Honda with 136k is barely broken in. Save your money and keep up with regular oil changes.

I lol at the fools that get oil changes every 3-5k. Of course they want you back in asap
Modern cars on full synthetic you should do every 7,500-8k

I actually like reading the owners manual. I found out stuff my car would do and didn’t even know it.
