Steyn was great but he was intimidated by the schedule. Producing 3 hours of quality stuff every day is mind numbing. Rush had a Trump-like sleep schedule of 5 hours a night.
Steyn had a heart attack a few years ago. He couldn't take that kind of work load.

Vivek should take over the job

I remember Rush talking about this in regards to himself and Trump.
I feel like I’m in good company when it comes to this.
Maybe I should throw my hat into the ring!

I'm always surprised to see this board about them. I have thoroughly enjoyed them so far.... except that Clay is a Vols fan.

Not saying he should have replaced Rush because his style is quite different and may not have caught on with a lot of folks, but I love my guy Dennis Prager.

Never been that big of a fan of that guy. I WOULD have liked to have seen Michael Berry get the rush slot. He's the best conservative voice out there if you ask me.

But, I don't get the hatred for them

They should have given that spot to Bo Snerdly.
I think they should have just patched in a line to EIB Ice Station Zebra and the last Rush Guest Host before the border, Mark Steyn. That would have been better than Clay and Buck for sure.

Other than Michael Barry, conservative radio is just boring now. If you could somehow merge the comedy of Adam Carolla, the policies of Matt* Walsh and the brashness of Tucker Carlson...then youd maybe have something close to Rush

I have given them a chance, but I have tapped out. Dan Bongino would have been by far a better choice, but pretty much anything corporate these days sucks.

There is a guy on Houston radio that I was hoping would be given a shot at Rush's follow-up
Michael Berry - seems to be solid conservative - can talk on any topic - listens to callers and responds productively.
Only gripe I have is that he intros every segment with too much music - and I only listen to radio during short trips in the car - seems like I time it to get nothing but 80% music.
On long drives, he delivers political content that is only beat by Rush's legacy.
He does spend time on other tangents tho. Some are interesting, others not so much. (for me == but I want political discussion on daytime radio)

perhaps the only viable candidate with national reputation.

I'd love to sleep 9 hours a night but my Border Collie sleeps with me and he hits me in the face with his paw when it's time to get up.

Not anymore.
Getting fired from Fox turned him into a legit nutcase.
the stuff he puts out now is for lunatics

I would have agreed with Michael Berry years ago but not now for several of the reasons you gave. He used to be hard hitting now it is just fluff when I have to listen. The only reason I listen to him is when traveling back into Houston and need traffic reports.

Steyn is not and for the last few years has not been in the best of health.

Batchelor is still on the radio? He was great back in the day. He gave time for people to answer .

Was doing tv in Britain until he was pulled off the air. He's had some serious health issues recently

There’ll never be another Rush.
