DEI
Ah yes the new boogey man
It’s not DEI, it’s poor planning with over saturation especially with the TV shows it became too much for the GA to keep track of. Getting back to the old model of putting out a limited number of movies is a start but you have to make sure they all actually feel like part of the same universe and not just one random event after another

So in your opinion DEI had nothing to do with she hulk and the marvels, for example?

I would say that blowing money on an entire dei based show/movie (such as marvels or she hulk) is an awful business decision.
However, the subtle dei stuff, like the rainbow pin in Dr strange, isn't a big deal and most people don't even notice.

The worst part about all their shows is they don’t feel like they are leading anywhere.
You don't feel like She-Hulk pushed the universe forward?
Bigot.

3 movies is fine. Where they lose me is with the shows.
I haven't watched The Marvels or Black Panther 2, even on +, because I'm just not that interested in them. What I WAS interested in, was some of the series. Loki, Moon Knight, etc. You could in theory expand the universe with series, and if one hits you make a new movie following that.
Sorta like what they're doing with Star Wars, now going over to the 'mandoverse' because the Rey sequels stank (and really screwed things up too).
If they hadn't made the sequels, I think Star Wars would be in great shape right now.

Just because a movie or show has a woman lead doesn’t make it apart of some grand DEI move. It’s just an explanation of the universe albeit not a great one but not terrible either. Marvels was just a tad boring which sucks because Brie is great actor and Kamala was one of the better parts of Ms Marvel

They need a complete reset. Dont explain it, dont make it a multiverse, just do X-Men and do Fantastic Four. They have to get Dr Doom right. He needs to be a Thrawn(not the Disney version) like villian.

3 movies and 2 shows per year is still way too much.

I love that girl they got for Ms. Marvel. She's gonna be around a long time. But saying Brie Larsen is a great actress is hilarious. She has the emotional range of a stump.

Noticed you left out she hulk which explicitly made men retarded brutes who are all bigots and made Daredevil a bitch

It was a show I had little interest so I didn’t comment on but even then She-Hulk is a Marvel hero with somewhat of a fanbase. But I’m sure your take on the show is incredibly accurate and not at all deceptive

Those budgets are hilarious too. When Alan Horn came over from WB, he brought a lot of his accounting bullshite over which is top notch bullshite.
Essentially these studios will create an LLC for each blockbuster they put out. The Studio will “loan out” $250 million or whatever is listed as the “budget” to that LLC (with interest too) in order to produce whatever movie the LLC was created for. Unless a movie is an unequivocal failure (like $250 million budget and only makes $400 million or less), then the studio almost always gets something back.
What a lot of folks always ignore is that while the box office is a huge piece of the pie, marketing tie ins, whether it’s in film or commercials can rack it up for a studio and that doesn’t even begin to factor in merchandising dollars.
BVS was a disappointment at the box office but drew over $250 million in revenue for Warner Brothers before a single ticket was sold purely off of marketing partnerships. That doesn’t include any merchandising sales either. And with those revenue sources, they aren’t splitting the pie with anyone else.
Don’t even get me started on the bullshite they pull with streaming services. Some are “struggling”, but none of the majors are failing in the financial sense.

It really is. Look what movies like Godzilla Minus One and Everything Everywhere All At Once were able to do with visual effects on a combined budget equal to one She Hulk episode. Not to mention EEAAO had a better execution of the multiverse than any marvel product so far. Both made around $125-150 million in the global box office and are considered incredible successes for their production companies. If a marvel movie doesn’t make that opening weekend it’s a complete failure

If we could only get that down to zero.....

You know how you make fun of posters who have opinions about shows they haven’t watched? You’re describing yourself frickstick

Forcing DEI into the content is poor planning.
The 1st rule of sales. Never forget who your customers are.

Thor's a weird situation.
After Dark World, I imagine that the third movie would have tanked if it hadn't gotten really good reviews and skewed a bit more towards humor.
Unfortunately, Ragnarok's success is exactly why Taika was given free reign over Love and Thunder... which is why it sucked.
Thor still has lots of potential (being the only original Avenger still headlining movies), but only if they find that balance that worked in Ragnarok (and stop giving Thor the exact same story arc every movie).
