He could have held for a bit more. That processing fee is simply another market adjustment.

In some cultures it's considered rude not to haggle. It must suck being a carsaleman in those places.

I bought a new truck just when inventory was starting to replenish post Covid, I went in expecting to just have to bend over and take it, shockingly there was haggling room and I was able to get a price that I was pretty satisfied with
Last summer was pretty bad (vehicle dependent I'm sure). I didn't try any extraordinary tricks, but I had a bunch of sales dudes tell me what we wanted just didn't exist in any quantity so the only way to do it was pay a deposit while en route and then pay whatever price was named. We did try and negotiate add ons (and pitch them against each other), but nothing would budge. Reality appeared to be that add ons were just the only way for the dealer to capitalize on demand, and I had a couple of the more honest guys agree.
We had to drive 150 miles just to find one to test drive at the time, so I eventually gave up and accepted it.

They’ll sit in a dealership for hours waiting on the sales manager to slow play them into just giving up.
Trade-ins is what gets these people. Held hostage since they don’t have a car to leave in.

My last truck, I called, he had one coming in, color, everything I wanted. They unloaded, I showed up, swiped my credit card, drove off. My friend owns the dealership. No BS, in fact about a dozen dealerships in the BTR area, are owned by my friends and relatives.

my dad had a pretty big business and had more or less a fleet of vehicles, two or three times when I was a kid he'd tell me to "go over to such and such (car dealership) and pick out a new Lincoln for your mother," I'd go over and pick one out and drive it home, they'd just send him a bill

Well yeah, that's how CarMax works.
So no haggling with CarMax?

What an idiot
He probably pays the same price you would.

That salesperson was absolutely awful.
Immediately brings up the manager at the first price objection, randomly throws out $500, then $1000 off. Doesn't know if they allow credit cards.
What exactly is the value of having that person selling your product?

Appreciate the video. I love how the dealership was so steadfast on the market adjustment being a part of the overall price when the guy was haggling.

He held is ground great. The dealership was trying to steal his money!

Probably his first or second week on the job and won't last 2 more weeks. Sounded like he was scared to death.

That's just added profit for the dealer because the car is in "high demand", is it not?

I don't care what dealer you are at if you see ADM you immediately walk and find another dealer. Never ever pay ADM.

Correct. Then they whine about it when you want it removed
