Haggling for a new car - Video

I'm the guy that goes in and pays whatever they tell me to pay because I don't care enough. I'd rather just pay and leave with the car.
I think the next time I buy, I may do haggle the crap out of it just for curiosity sake. And to save some money...
Dealerships are certainly full of crap...

That's a hard sentence to start a post with and expect anyone to take you seriously.

A salesman’s favorite customer is you.

All this bullshite can be done online via email across multiple dealers simultaneously for added leverage.
Imagine wasting your time in person talking to these scumbags.

I just bought a new truck, did 99% of it over text message. I put two dealers against each other with the same truck down to the color and MSRP, was the easiest vehicle deal I've ever made. I walked in with a check, signed a few pieces of paper and was out of the dealer door in 15 minutes.

Believe it or not, there are still a lot of idiots that don’t realize they’re the customer and the dealerships work for them. They’ll sit in a dealership for hours waiting on the sales manager to slow play them into just giving up.
I’d never spend more than 5 minutes in these places.

I did that with my last car. Had two dealers, one in Slidell and one in Gulfport working against each other via email.
That said the car buying process still took forever due to the negotiation of a trade in which they absurdly low balled me on. Had to work that up a bit to make it work.
For trade ins, get a car max offer if you like the price they offer. They’ll match that in a heart beat

Did that for a Toyota back in the day. Walked out of one dealership after they wouldn't meet our number. Went to a 2nd dealership and ended up with the same car from the 1st dealership at the number we were asking.

frick all that. We've got a friend that does mostly fleet sales that we've purchased from for the last 3 decades. I just call him, tell him what I want and he hooks me up with more discounts because he can float a discounted personal sale every so often.

Why do these frickers think they can ask age and what you do for a living like it has shite to do with negotiations.

My last three cars/trucks purchased have been online and pre/approved via my credit union for what I am financing. I only go in when I have a set price and purchase agreement that I have the option to opt out if they change the price or I do not like the test drive. For the most part, its just a slight haggle for any potential trade and signing paperwork. My Honda van I arrived at 1 pm and was out by 3pm with my van.

Is inventory better now?
Seems like leverage is zero when there are only a handful of vehicles within 100 miles and they're all sold before they go to the lot.

I bought a new truck just when inventory was starting to replenish post Covid, I went in expecting to just have to bend over and take it, shockingly there was haggling room and I was able to get a price that I was pretty satisfied with

While I'm not advocating just walking in and paying what the dealership says - there are some people whose time is actually worth more than dealing with that bullshite

This isn't about me. It's about the video I posted. Don't worry about me.

This explains so much about you, and should be seen as a clear sign that nothing you say here holds any weight or merit. You're a fricking dumbass IRL, not just playing one on the internet.

I listened to the whole thing to see how it ended...he stood his ground and got what he wanted, but he menitons in there he has a pre-approal check from his bank for 18K USD, 4K USD cashier check and offers to swipe the remaining 4K USD on credit card if they will do the deal right now.
The part of that worth mentioning is that on that 18K it was a loan @ 8.29% for 84 mos. Holy cow!! Good darn job negotiating the price, but that finincing sounds terrible to me.
