Carryon bag for international trip

Trying to use carryon for upcoming trip to Europe for a cruise. Any carryon you suggest? I ordered a Monos carryon plus, but honestly it looks like just a regular size.

I use a rolling duffel bag.

I have. Travelpro, but I also have a backpack suitcase that counts as my under seat personal item. Works great

I've used an Osprey Transporter.
Different Sizes:
Transporter 36L
Remember to check the specific size restrictions imposed by your chosen airline to ensure your carry-on complies with their guidelines. You could probably almost always get away with a 22" size. Some airlines have a smaller requirement.

Just took an international trip. I used the Thule Chasm Sport Duffel 40L. Worked out great, but it does not have wheels if you need/wanted that.

Samsonite, hit international size, buy. I have had one for years and it does fit in those smaller international planes confirmed.

I’ve got an osprey travel bag and like it but looking for something maybe a little bigger with 4 wheels

I've taken my eBag Motherlode bag on multiple European Trips. 2 wheels though. Not a 4 wheel fan personally, but understand the interest.
Along with that Transporter backpack. Worked for me, but certainly probably not the best configuration.
Travelpro probably makes the best carryon option for you. Thule or Tumi if you want to spend more.

I've used the same Tumi Alpha International bag for about 12 years now. Easily 120+ International trips.
Still going strong.

I got my wife the travel pro but the 19" "international" sized one and not the 21" one. Though 21" is the standard international vs 22" in the US.
I guess I was thinking just in case we get on a stickler LCC flight in Europe or whatever.
I pretty much believe people pack to fill the suitcase so you can force yourself to not over pack like the masses by getting either one of these good sized options.

I use a back pack bag. I bought it from Rick steves website. I can fit a weeks worth of clothes in it.
I rarely use a roller bag. Maybe only for cruises or Disney. I don't want to roll bags from an airport to a train station.

Before buying a new bag go to Will My Bag Fit to see if it will work. Site isn't perfect, but really accurate.

Just my opinion but I hate rollers for Europe outside of the airport. If you are strictly carrying on then something like a rolling duffel with wheels that also has a single strap to carry or a backpack is much preferred.
Going through train stations, cobblestone streets, up tons of stairs, etc with only a roller sucks which is the case in much of europe outside of city centers and American brand hotels.
I see you are just discussing your carryon not only carrying on, if that's the case then yeah just make sure its small enough to fit the requirements. As said its more about the capacity when used then the capacity empty.

I have the eBags Motherlode backpack, and Nole Man suggested the rolling Duffel of the same brand. I really like it, looks like it is on sale right now for a good price.

For a cruise I would suggest a carry-on duffle with backpack straps to maximize your cabin storage space that can be carried a few different ways.
I personally can't stand spinner luggage and for my carry-on I want ease of use so I want a few pockets on the outside I can easily access for things like magazines, eye mask, snacks, travel docs, etc. so that rules out most bi-fold luggage pieces.
A duffel can be stored a bit more easily and be used throughout your trip (either as a pool bag or in port if/when needed) to carry any souvenirs or crafts you may buy.

A carryon is going to have to fit within the carryon size restrictions.

Japan is rough in this regard too if you're using the trains.
Now, I also think it is also somewhat overblown. If you have a 19-21" rollerbag, carrying them up and down stairs isn't that bad, and you should only be doing that once every few days. For example, on arrival, departure, and if switching hotels.
The people who complain about this are the ones who have the giant checked roller bag who are absolutely going to struggle in this scenario.

Ended up getting a Travelpro Crew Classic carryon. Macy's had a good sale on them.
